Welcome Back
Welcome back to all our students, families and staff for Term 2. I hope everyone was able to enjoy a restful break and had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. It has been wonderful to see our students return refreshed, positive and ready for a term full of learning and growth.
Term 2 is always a busy and productive time at Drysdale Primary School. Across all year levels, students will be building on the strong foundations established in Term 1, with a continued focus on literacy and numeracy, as well as inquiry learning and specialist programs. Our teachers are committed to providing engaging and differentiated learning experiences to support every student to achieve their personal best.
This term also provides many opportunities beyond the classroom. We look forward to a range of excursions, incursions and extracurricular activities that will enrich student learning and strengthen connections across our school community. Information about these events will be shared with families as details are finalised.
Student wellbeing remains a key priority. We will continue to foster a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued and connected. Our wellbeing programs and classroom practices are designed to build resilience, positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging.
As the weather begins to cool, a reminder that students should be in full school uniform, including appropriate outerwear.
Maintaining high expectations around attendance and punctuality is also important, as every day at school counts.
Thank you to our families for your ongoing support. Strong partnerships between home and school play a vital role in student success. We encourage you to stay connected through school communications and to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
We look forward to a fantastic Term 2 filled with learning, growth and achievement.
Drysdale Community Market
Last Sunday marked the final Community Market for the season, and it was a wonderful way to finish. The market was buzzing, with a fantastic turnout of stallholders and strong community attendance throughout the day.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated volunteers—Rick, Seumas, Jac, Kate, Carissa, Lizzie, Simon, Kayleigh and Gary. Your time, energy and commitment are what make the market such a success, and it does not go unnoticed.
A very special thank you to Gus for stepping into the coordinator role this year. His leadership, organisation and enthusiasm have brought a renewed energy to the market, helping it feel vibrant and thriving once again. We are incredibly grateful for the effort he has put in across the season.
Reminder: Mobile Phone Policy – Term 2
A reminder to all families that the Victorian Government’s mobile phone policy for government schools remains in place for Term 2. This policy requires that students who bring a mobile phone to school must have it switched off and securely stored during the school day.
At Drysdale Primary School, this means that any student who brings a mobile phone must hand it in to the office at the start of the day. Phones will be safely stored and returned to students at the end of the school day.
This approach supports a focus on learning, minimises distractions, and promotes positive social interactions during the school day.
We ask for your support in reinforcing this expectation with your child. If a student needs to contact home during the day, they are encouraged to do so through the school office.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and focused learning environment for all students.
