Congratulations to the Moe U16 Boys - Premiers 2024. Year 10 Sports Academy student Mason Snowden was Best on Ground, a huge effort and something to be congratulated.
Year 11 Sports Academy student Addison Vickery-Howe has been successful in making the Victorian Country Team in the Inaugural Victorian U17 Girls Future Match at Bundoora’s La Trobe University.
Sports Academy netball coaches Ramayer Gourley and Stacie Gardiner have been selected to coach the VNL Championships. How lucky are we to have both of them supporting our students and working at the college!
Lowanna College PE and Maths Teacher Mr. Scott van Dyk received Player of the Week for his performance during the Moe Seniors qualifying final for the second time this season. Congratulations.
Lowanna College PE and Maths Teacher Mr. Ben van Dyk won the Reserves League Goal Kicker with 54 goals this season. Congratulations Mr. van Dyk!
Congratulations to one of our guest speakers, Beau Vernon, for his Bronze Medal in the Olympic Wheelchair Rugby.
Well done to Year 12 Sports Academy student Alix Tauru, playing in the U18 Gippsland Power Team for their last round of the year before heading into finals. All the best for the finals Alix.
Past Sports Academy students Elise and Alisha Molesworth have been picked for the 2024 Team of the Year, well done to both girls on this achievement.
Xavier Ladbrook received 22 votes in the U16s West Gippsland League vote count, coming 5th overall. Well done Xavier!
On Tuesday the 10th of September we had a number of students compete in the Gippsland Athletics in hopes to advance to State Finals. With many students placing in the top three for their event, Lowanna College had a successful day with Year 7 students, Liam Arbon and Patrick Manning, Year 11 students Darcy Knowles and Kyson Cornwall and the Senior Boys relay team advancing to State Finals.
Last Wednesday our Year 8 Girls soccer team competed at the State Finals. Losing their first game to Maribyrnong Sports Academy, they were quick to redeem themselves, winning their second game against Wodonga, 7-0. Although the last game was cancelled due to the weather, the girls had a successful day.
