Real XPerience Gaming Event - Y9 & 10 Students

The free Real XPerience school holidays gaming event on Friday 22 September 2023 will give Years 9 and 10 students hands-on gaming time and information about how they can turn their passion for gaming into a career pathway through the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major curriculum.

 

About the event

The Department of Education and games and culture experience company Fortress Melbourne will deliver the one-day event, which will feature panel discussions, hands-on workshops and presentations.

 

The event will give students key information about careers in a number of vocational education and training-linked industries, including:

  • film and content production
  • construction
  • catering and hospitality
  • audio and light engineering.

After the one-day event, Years 9 to 10 students can access a week of free gameplay at Fortress Melbourne, from Saturday 23 September to Friday 29 September 2023.

Spring School Holiday Programs

The Huddle

Huddle Holidays is a FREE school holiday program that services 8-18 year olds with a particular focus on ensuring young people learn, grow and belong. The Spring Huddle Holiday Program is packed with SIX unique activities. 

  • Juniors (8-12 year olds) can sign up to Bounce - our Multi-Sport Superclinic where participants try MMA, AFL, gymnastics and more all in one place; and Reptile Day, meeting Australia’s finest furry and scaley friends. 
  • Seniors (13-18 years) can sign up to Bounce; join an existing team or start their own for our 'social' and 'competitive' 3x3 Basketball Slam at Eagle Stadium, Werribee; and lastly try their hand at Strike Bowling and Laser Tag! Catering is provided for all activities, and transport is available for some activities.

ON TRACK 22, Spring School Holidays: Monday September 18 – Friday September 22, 2023.

Mushroom Group are super excited to open registrations for the ON TRACK 22 school holiday immersive music experience. ON TRACK is an exciting and energetic holiday music experience giving high school students a unique opportunity to get up close with some of Melbourne’s finest talent!

 

ON TRACK is FREE and open to high school students aged 12-18 years

GET CREATIVE, GET ON TRACK!

ON TRACK is coming to Werribee Secondary College, Werribee, Monday September 18 – Friday September 22. Across 5 days participant’s will: 

  • Channel their experiences and write a collaborative track
  • Lay down demos with ON TRACK’s “Studio In A Box”
  • Find their voice and take the stage and perform their tracks on Music Celebration Day

ON TRACK is completely FREE for students, with travel vouchers provided in advance.

PLUS, lunch, refreshments and PRIZES up for grabs every day.

MELBOURNE VICTORY FOOTBALL CLUB SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Melbourne Victory’s free Holiday Program for secondary students is back!

Two programs will run in the Spring School Holidays:

  • 18 – 21 September for the South and East Schools
  • 25 – 28 September for the North and West Schools

The Melbourne Victory Spring Holiday Program will provide secondary school students with the opportunity to engage with Melbourne Victory staff, coaches and players, as well as participate in excursions, education and employment sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills, while also learning and improving their football skills and knowledge through daily training sessions and games.

Become a Foster Carer with Anglicare

Anglicare Victoria provides support to some of the most vulnerable families in Victoria, including children who do not live in a safe environment and have been exposed to abuse or neglect. The Government’s Child Protection Unit has declared that our local communities are currently in crisis in meeting the increasing demand for placing children in Foster Care. Anglicare's role is to recruit, train and support the special families who voluntarily provide foster care to vulnerable children. Due to the current crisis, we are desperately seeking to increase the number of foster carers to ensure these children can be placed in a safe and nurturing home.
