To Strive, To Seek, To Care with HEART

Dear Parents and Friends,

As we enter the final week of the academic year, there’s a wonderful sense of anticipation across St Philip’s College. Our campus is buzzing with rehearsals, final assessments, celebrations and the steady determination of students finishing well.

This is always a special time and requires a balance of focus, gratitude and joy.

I’ve been reminding students that how we finish matters. These coming weeks are an opportunity to show resilience, to honour the effort they’ve invested throughout the year, and to take pride in completing the journey well. Every lesson, every interaction and every act of kindness still counts.

Our Year 12s have completed their examinations, graduated with grace and celebrated at the Valedictory Dinner and are starting the next exciting chapter in their lives. We are incredibly proud of them. Their maturity, leadership and contribution to College life this year have been outstanding. Likewise, our Year 11 students are stepping capably into senior responsibilities, showing admirable focus as they complete their final assessments. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the weeks of hard work of all the staff involved who ensured the success of Graduation and the Valedictory Dinner.

Our Year 10s have their final examinations next week and I hope the results accurately reflect the effort and learning that occurred during the semester. If not, the break is a perfect opportunity to reflect on changes that need to be made before their final two years of schooling. Every class they take from now on goes towards their Year 12 certificate so it’s important to choose subjects wisely and set learning goals.

For our junior students, these weeks are filled with opportunities to reflect on academic, social and personal growth. I encourage families to talk with their young people about the year’s highlights, challenges and achievements. Celebrate their progress. It helps them carry confidence and purpose into 2026.

Thank you to our dedicated staff whose commitment remains unwavering right to the final day. Their energy, professionalism and genuine care for students are the heartbeat of St Philip’s.

There is still much to enjoy before we reach the finish line including the learning expo, the Special Awards Assembly, Subject Awards Assembly and the Christmas Concert. These are moments that remind us why our community is so special.

I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.

Warm regards,

Leslie Tilbrook

Principal
