Term 3 Highlights
When we get to the end of the term it is always great to reflect on all of the fantastic learning, community activities, programs and events we have been able to offer at Westbreen PS. A huge thanks to all staff, parents and volunteers for their time and organisation generously given to these initiatives.

Creators Club
Congratulations to Zahra (1K), Noah (2F), Omar (FD) and Charlie (2S) who were our final winners of the best drawing challenge this week. Check out their amazing creativity!
A very special thanks to all of our students who have run clubs this term! They have showed great commitment to their club and leadership of others. We are looking forward to some new clubs in term 4!
Colour Fun Run
All the details of the Colour Fun Run have been sent via Xuno to parents, including the permission form. Don't forget to give permission for your child to participate in this fun whole school event! See below for details:
Our Colour Fun Run is happening on Friday 18th September, and we are getting ready for a fun-filled day!
Students will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of exciting activities, including:

🌈Colour Spray
🎨Colour Powder
🛝Inflatables
To help protect school uniforms, please ensure your child wears a cheap white T-shirt/top on the day. The colour powder and sprays can stain clothing, so we strongly recommend not wearing school uniform.
Students will be supervised throughout the event, and we encourage everyone to follow staff instructions and participate safely. Parents and carers are most welcome to come along and watch.

End of Term Early Dismissal (Same day as our Colour Fun Run)
A quick reminder that the end of the term is coming up on Friday the 18th of September and on the last day of term we will have an early dismissal time of 2:15pm. A reminder that TheirCare will be operating on the final day of term as well as over the holidays.
LAST CHANCE! 2026 Parent / Carer Opinion Survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CARERS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026. All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphone. An email was sent on Monday the 17th of August with the link and pin for you to complete the survey.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / carers who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language.
Last year the survey results showed that communication was an area we could improve in and that families wanted more information about their child’s learning. In response, this year we have introduced progress reports completed in Term 1 and 3. We have also reviewed our learning management system and upgraded our school website. Your feedback really does make a difference! Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.
