Welcome back!

PSSA/NSW Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to Darcy Watson, Sophie Dutton, and RhysSimmons, who proudly represented our school at the Cross Country Championships held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre on Wednesday 22 July. 

PSSA Basketball Knockout Gala Day

On Thursday 25 June, both our boys and girls basketball teams competed in the PSSA Basketball Knockout Gala Day.

Our girls came up against Cooerwull, last year's champions, who proved to be a very strong team. Although we didn't come away with the win, the girls put up a really good fight, played hard and kept pushing until the final whistle. Well done girls!

The boys team played Zig Zag in their opening game and secured a convincing win, earning a place in the next round. Their second match was against Cooerwull and, despite a tougher contest, the boys claimed another impressive victory by 17 points. They then faced Bathurst Public School, recording a strong 52–20 win.

As a result, the boys have progressed to the final four schools in the region and will travel to Orange to play Orange Public School. Congratulations and good luck, boys!

Public Education Week

Public Education Week will be celebrated from 3–7 August 2026, with this year's theme, Inspiring Excellence.

At Eglinton Public School, we will celebrate on 11 August with our bi-annual School Concert at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC). There will be a matinee and an evening performance, with tickets going on sale Wednesday July 29 via the BMEC website. Tickets are $16/each - further details to come. 

We look forward to coming together as a school community to celebrate the incredible achievements and excellence of NSW public schools.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Thank you to the families who have already attended parent/teacher interviews. It is always a pleasure to work together to support your child's learning and wellbeing.

If you have not yet booked an interview, there are still appointments available next week. We encourage you to make a booking if you would like to meet with your child's teacher.

Student Code of Conduct

On Tuesday morning, I met with students in their year groups to introduce the new NSW Public Schools Student Code of Conduct. All students are aware of how they need to be respectful and responsible at school each day.

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all NSW public school students. It applies to all school activities, both on and off the school site, including online, and how students conduct themselves individually and with other students, teachers, school staff and community members.

Teachers will continue to refer to the Student Code of Conduct throughout Terms 3 and 4 to ensure all students have a clear understanding of the expectations and the positive behaviours that help create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.
