Principal's Report

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you are all refreshed and ready for another term.

You may have noticed some changes when you returned to school. Thanks to all your amazing fundraising through grounds and STEM we were able to arrange asphalting and line marking (including symbols to support our numeracy initiatives) for Fitzroy North PS. As part of the asphalting we could incorporate the designer bricks from the 150th year celebrations. This has also been complimented by lovely new picnic tables and passive space.

Kew High School - Work Experience 

At the end of last term, a number of work experience students from Kew High School attended Fitzroy North Primary School. As a part of their week, they ran some small workshops with the students in Grade 2 and were involved in our Kitchen Garden program. They also did an amazing job landscaping the front garden and more students will return Term 3 and 4 to continue this work. A big thank you to Elise Dunstan (supervising teacher from Kew High School) for organising the students too!

World Cup

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi, oi, oi!

On the last day of Term 2, Grade 3 - 6 made quite the noise during the Australia Vs Paraguay group stage match. The hall had an audio and visual upgrade in preparation for the match and Grade 3/4T decorated the space in green and gold. It was a great atmosphere and the students were passionate in their support of the Socceroos.

Staffing change and Principal Placement

Congratulations to Sarah Easton who was the successful applicant for our Disability Inclusion/Mental Health in Primary Schools role. Sarah brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and we wish her every success in her new role.

Joe Dykes will be attending a Principal training placement Weeks 3 - 6, Term 3. A number of staff will be backfilling a portion of Joe’s role during this time to continue to build their leadership experience.

Refi is out of the classroom from Tuesday - Friday and will be Joe’s replacement point of contact during this time. We wish Joe all the best with his Principal training.
