Time:

I had the privilege of attending my own son's school for their Father's Day Breakfast and the school liturgy. The smile on his face when he walked out of the liturgy, past me and gave me a high five, is the precious memory I will cherish.

This week, one of my Colleagues, Ross, Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes Bayswater, lost his life whilst at school camp. Our thoughts and prayers are with this community as they face this tragic circumstances, but above all, to Ross' family, who lose their husband and dad this week, Father's Day.

For some of our our children, they will not be able to see their dad's for a variety of reasons this father's day, but they will be surrounded by people who love them.

It is a reminder of the most precious gift we have; TIME.

Like God's love for us, we take time for granted. However, it is important we cherish the little moments we get. They don't have to be long moments. It is about being present to make it meaningful. That is why it was beautiful to see some of our families drawing, playing chess, shooting hoops or eating with their child. This is precious time.

My prayer for you is that this weekend, you can have a precious small moment, and really enjoy it.

First Communion

Congratulations to our students who made their first communion last weekend.

It was beautiful to see them and their families receive Christ is this most special way.

To their families, we love that you support your children to come to know and love God.

Your witness of faith allows them to develop their own special connection with you and Jesus.  Faith is not only taught, it is caught. Families are the first educators in Faith.

Prayer

A Prayer For Fathers

Heavenly Father,

you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary,

to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.

Bless all fathers

as they care for their families.

Give them strength and wisdom,

tenderness and patience;

support them in the work they have to do,

protecting those who look to them,

as we look to you for love and salvation,

through Jesus Christ

our rock and defender.

Amen.
