Hello Gympie East parents, carers and community,
A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 4th September is a Pupil Free Day. No school for students.
Grandparents/Special Person's Day is fast approaching, this is arguably our biggest day of the year and we love to see Grandparents and the Special People in our student's lives at school and strengthening relationships. Grandparents Day runs from 12pm-3pm on Wednesday 16th September. All students should have brought home a hand-written invitation. If you know ahead of time, it would be great if you could rsvp. The big request we have for support, is a donation of food for the afternoon tea and donations of books or plants for our book/plant sale in the Library. I did send an email with a list of different foods, which are below. We really appreciate your support!
Prep - Sandwiches
1J – Muffins
2G – Savoury
3C - Cupcakes
3H - Fruit
4H – Slices
5P – Savoury
6C - Sandwiches
In PBL this week, the focus is 'Make positive choices'. This week we are focussed on making positive choices. This is a broad statement that can apply to many areas of school life, whether it being making a positive behaviour choice, or choosing to maintain positivity in the face of adversity we have spent time learning different ways to make positive choices. Next week, we will be focussing on 'Follow playground rules'. The rules are clear, we reiterate them regularly but putting a spotlight on the different playground rules and why they exist is an important part of PBL.
Our Slime Run is also fast approaching! Keep an eye out for parent emails or facebook posts about our slime run. Next Friday at Parade, every student who has raised at least $50 will go in the running to slime Mr Walters as well as the highest fundraiser. This will be a great reward to get Mr Walters messy and slimy! The slime run will be held on Friday 18th September from 1:30pm, it will be a fantastic....but messy afternoon!
Next week, we welcome back Mrs Tash Riley who has been on 4 weeks leave on a family holiday to Spain. A huge thank you to Mrs Bonnie Thorne who has taken over Prep in her absence.
