Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,

I hope you are having a rewarding and productive week. Last Friday, it was great to take our annual drone photo. Unfortunately, our drone batteries were failing so we could only take one shot, as opposed to the several ‘flyovers’ we have traditionally done. Thank you to Mrs Egan for her very efficient drone operation, especially with a very short battery life!

Wellbeing Instruments

The weekend before last we had two musically tuned stainless steel xylophones installed in the Prep-Year 1 playground space. You may have seen them; they are locally made at a small business founded by a man from a family of teachers.  They have been very well received by the students so far. The spot was carefully selected to be in amongst the trees as much as possible. It is something that we have been looking at installing for some time, so it is wonderful that we have been able to turn this into a reality.

Movie Night- Toy Story 5

I am pleased to announce that we will be screening Toy Story 5 at our movie night in October, instead of Zootopia 2. 

If you already purchased tickets and have them - you can re-use them (even though they say ‘Utopia’)

If you have purchased and lost them - contact the office for a re-issue.

If you haven’t purchased tickets, they will be available to purchase through Course Confirmation in Compass from next week.

We will be looking for parent helpers on the night so please keep this in mind.

Phantom Dog Pooper - Oval

Most unfortunately, we have a local resident who routinely allows their large dog to defecate on the school oval. This is a daily occurrence and is appalling. Firstly, if anyone has any more information around this then please let me know. Secondly, I intend to do a letterbox drop along Luck Street and the surrounding area. If any parents would be able to assist, please let the office know. Some community members seem to have the idea that schools are local parks, which they are not, and we must improve the way the school grounds are treated by some people after hours.

Fundraising

Thank you to the EEPS community for your donations on dress-up day last week. Collectively we raised over $500 which we have been able to pass on to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Thank you for the orders that have been coming in for the much-awaited release of the 2026 EEPS Recipe Book. It is sure to be a great addition to anyone’s cookbook collection.

Colour Run - Postponed Until Next Year

We have made the decision not to hold a colour run this year, due to a lot of other school events, commitments and to also spread the costs for families. We had a very successful first colour run last year and it is definitely something we are going to continue, but probably every second year. 

Updates and Reminders

Just a reminder that we have two altered days coming up over the next month:

Wednesday 9th September - Curriculum Day (day after concert)

Wednesday 16th September - Variation to School Hours Day - children only attend for the 3 Way Conference time. Conference bookings open on Thursday morning.

Please remember to give permission for the Compass Event for the dress rehearsal for concert.
