Swimming Success at Division Level
Recently, swim trials were held at Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre to select a team to represent St Monica’s at the Sandhurst Division Primary School meet. We were excited to have eleven students qualify.
On Friday 27 February, our swimmers achieved some excellent results at the meet.
Individual Results
- Fletcher – 1st (11yo) 50m Freestyle, 3rd 50m Backstroke
- Ava – 2nd (12/13yo) 50m Freestyle, 3rd 50m Butterfly
- Grace – 3rd (12/13yo) 50m Backstroke
- Tia – 3rd (9/10yo) 50 Breastroke
Team Results
- 12/13yo Girls Freestyle Relay 1st place - Ava, Grace, Lily, and Cara
- 9/10yo Girls Freestyle Relay 3rd place - Tia, Stella, Alice, and Emilia
Congratulations to Fletcher, Ava, Grace, Lily, and Cara, who have qualified to compete at the Loddon Mallee Swimming Championships in Swan Hill on 10 March 2026.
This is a fantastic achievement, and we wish them all the best as they represent our school at the next level.

Whole School Athletics
This year, our Whole School Athletics Carnival will be held at the end of Term 1. By aligning the event with the conclusion of the regular athletics season, we are hopeful of enjoying nice weather for a fantastic day of competition and participation.
The carnival will take place on Monday, 23rd March at La Birpa Athletics Track.
In the coming weeks, students will begin preparing for their events during Physical Education sessions.
We are currently seeking parent volunteers to assist on the day. Events such as this rely heavily on the support of our school community. If you are available to help, please contact me via email. If you have not yet completed your 2026 volunteer forms, please contact the school office to finalise this prior to the event.
