Principal's Report

Working Bee
We were blessed with perfect ‘working bee weather’ for our Year 2 and 6 Working Bee. Dimi and I are so grateful to the parents and students that supported our working bee, we can’t thank them enough. It was particularly lovely to watch some of our Year 6 students working alongside their parents! Both campuses looked so much neater, cleaner and well cared for by 11.00am last Sunday!
Thank you to the following school community members and families for helping to make both Campuses look extra neat and tidy or gave a donation: Anna and Campbell Angus, Louisa Bolton, Luke Buzaglo, Preetha Chandramouli, David Chia, Dan Ferguson, Robert Forrester, Casey and Rob Galinsky, Jamie Gold, Barry Goldman, Andrea Guaman, Lisa Hyman, Hayley Kangisser, Jaehee Lee, Martin McKee, Tom Nguyen, Ed Nucci, Luke Papatheohari, Anna and Joel Phillips, Jonathan Quinteros, Nimrod Rotenberg, Danny Rotman, Rebecca Scott, Andrew and Penina Varker, Elise Venditti, Bianca and David Whiteman, Katherine Williamson, Ying Wu, Sylvia Yang, Jonathan Yap, Amy Zaltzberg and Jessie Zhang.
Sincere apologies if your name is not on this list but we appreciate your help all the same!
Our next Working Bee will be for our Year 1 and 5 Families on Sunday 24th May.
The dates for the rest of the working bees this year are as follows: -
Term 3 – Prep and Year 4 - Sunday 9th August
Term 4 – Year 3 and Junior Campus – Sunday 18th October
Walkathon
Our School Walkathon is being held on Friday 27th March from 9.00 – 10.30am. Our Walkathon is always a lovely school event with many parents and grandparents joining us at Landcox Park to cheer on the children. Our students took home their Sponsorship Forms yesterday. If the form has been misplaced, we have spare forms at each office. This is a major fundraiser for our school, and we are always so grateful for the support we receive for this event! This year we are aiming to raise funds for new picnic tables and seating at the Junior Campus and new basketball/netball towers for the Senior Campus. Team Kids are sponsoring a coffee van for all the adults attending the Walkathon – so look out for the little caravan in Mavis Street and order your free coffee, tea of hot chocolate!
Bush Dance
On Wednesday, 25th March, at 2.15pm to 3.15pm, we will be holding our Annual Bush Dance. This year we have chosen to raise money for the Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation. This is a whole school event and will be held at the Senior Campus under the COLA. Students are asked to come to school dressed in their bush dance gear - jeans, check shirt, denim skirt or shorts. Parents and Grandparents are most welcome to come along and watch as the students perform the dances, they have been taught by Mr Pitts and Miss Cook during their Performing Arts classes.
School Council
The parent nominations for the 2026 School Council have now closed. We are pleased to announce that our 2026 School Council Parent Members will be: Rachel Bloom, Aaron Freedman, Barry Goldman, Tim Hope-Johnstone, Darren Krawitz, Lisa Liu, Leon Lopata, Nicky Martin, Benjamin McDonald-Ranga and Romany Tauber. Thank you to each of you for generously offering your time and skills to serve our school community through your involvement on School Council. Officer bearers will be elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 24th March.
Wine and Cheese Night
The Parent Wine and Cheese Night was held in our Junior Courtyard last Thursday. Thank you to all the parents that were able to support the evening, and I heard that an enjoyable night was had by all. A big thank you to the following organisers for their time, effort and generosity in making the event possible; Robyn and Darren Krawitz, Hugh Maguire, Lisa Cohen, Andrew Campbell, Eszter Mitchell, Reka Szentkiralyi and Jen and Marc Robinson,
School Camps
Our Year 4 to 6 Camps have now all been completed and from what I have heard the children have had a ball and experienced new and fun activities.
A big thank you to our Year 4 to 6 teachers, Tom Pitts, Kirsten Travis, Cathy Edwards, Abbey Morrow and all the assisting parents, for their hard work and giving up their time away from their own homes. This ensured the camps proceeded and enabled our students to have a most rewarding and memorable experience.
ANZAC Day Assembly
Our special ANZAC Day Assembly will be held on Friday 24th April. This whole school ANZAC Day assembly will take place at 9.15 at the Senior Campus, under the COLA. We will pay our respects and remember those who have served our country in war and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.
We need a Volunteer - If you have a relative, that has served in the Australian armed services and would be happy to recite The Ode at the Assembly, could you please contact either Dimi or myself. Parents are most welcome to attend this special assembly
Have an enjoyable week,
Janine
