Grade 1/2 Clay Owls

Following a lesson last week learning all about the features and characteristics of Australian owls, they will used the slab technique to construct an owl of their own. They will develop skills in joining clay pieces using the score and slip technique. Students experimented with a range of clay tools to create texture, pattern and detail, and use lines, shapes and textures to represent realistic owl features such as feathers, eyes, beaks and claws. Next week we will paint our owls.
