SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Once again, we have packed lots of learning, fun, and excitement into Term 2. Thank you to our amazing students for such a wonderful term! We hope all our students and their families have a safe, restful and enjoyable break.

Just a reminder, our holiday program will also run throughout the two-week holiday period. Please book through Camp Australia's processes.

SCHOOL REPORTS

Student reports will be available on Compass at the end of today. The reports will provide families with detailed insights into the learning covered throughout the first semester of the year. It is important to read the letter sent out with the reports, which details some changes with the new Mathematics Curriculum being introduced. If you have any questions about your child’s report, please email your child’s teacher on Compass. The classroom teacher will arrange a time to address these questions at the beginning of Term 3.

SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Mrs. Downie and Mrs. Banfield are extremely excited to announce our school show for 2024: "We Belong; Celebrating Diversity" on Friday, 30th August.

With the huge success of last year’s show, we have decided to run this event offsite at Rivergum Performing Arts Centre. This will ensure enough seating for families and a huge stage for our students to showcase the hard work they have been completing throughout the Performing Arts Program.

The students have been learning and sharing in the rich multiculturalism we are so lucky to have here at Orchard Park, and each class has been practising a song or dance from a particular culture or country.

As part of this, we are looking for the best logo design to appear on the show costumes, program, and tickets. The logo design needs to fit on half an A4 piece of paper, no bigger, and must feature the words, ‘We Belong; Celebrating Diversity’ & ‘Orchard Park Primary School Show 2024’. The rest of the artwork is up to you!

The winning design will be printed on the shirts for the whole school to wear during the performance, as well as on the show program and tickets.

Please submit your entries to Mrs. Downie or Mrs. Banfield by Friday, 19th July, the first Friday of Term 3. You can email them to the school or bring them in person.

Information about ticket sales will be sent out early in Term 3.

PREP ENROLMENTS 2025

Just a reminder that all Prep 2025 applications for enrolment are due by Friday 26th July 2024. If you have any family, friends, or siblings who would like to attend our school in Prep 2025, please direct them to our website to complete the 2025 Pre-enrolment Form or use the link provided below:

All siblings are required to complete this form, so please do not assume we know who all our younger brothers and sisters are. The Department of Education has introduced new timelines for 2025, and all enrolment applications need to be submitted by Friday 26th July.

Please ensure that if you have a child or know anyone who would like to attend our school in Prep next year, they complete the pre-enrolment form on our website by Friday 26th July.

NAIDOC WEEK

We are excited to celebrate NAIDOC Week during the first week back of Term 3. NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. We have a range of activities planned to engage students in learning about and honouring the rich heritage of Australia's First Nations peoples.
