Miracles All Around
We've had a wonderful and joyful start to Term Three. This term is known for significant growth and consolidation. I always relish witnessing the "light bulb" moments students experience in their learning during this time. We have an action-packed term ahead, including the 3/4 camp, Year 2 camp, Year 1/2 dinner and activity day, Book Week, a presentation by author Mark Greenwood, the Domino cereal run, and much more.
The Lord has gone before us, preparing abundant miracles and blessings for each of us. May the words of Paul in Ephesians 3:14-21 be our blessing this term.
"For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."

Parent Volunteers
To ensure your safety and under legislative requirements, the College requires every volunteer to complete a College Volunteer Expression of Interest Form and undertake an Induction. This induction has been developed to cover all aspects of volunteering at the College from classroom assistance through to participating in trips, excursions and camps.
The induction will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete and you will be required to upload a photo of your current Working With Children Card before approval is granted.

Music Showcase Evening
On Thursday 27 June, the biannual 'Music Showcase Evening' was held where students were able to share what musical work they have been learning this semester with their family and friends. There were performances on keyboard, guitar, voice, violin and saxophone. It was another amazing evening which again showcased the musical talent of our upcoming generation of musicians, and the effort which they had all put into preparing their performances.
Thanks are due again to our amazing instrumental teachers, Elizabeth Mallen (piano), Emma Rogers (piano & woodwind), Jacob Mahoney (guitar), Mark Berry (guitar) and Rupert Balint-Smith (strings), and for all the work they have done with the students this year. This evening also couldn't have run without the help of Tim Mann in organising the sound system, as well as all the volunteers who pitched in to help. Thanks again to everyone who contributed to making these concerts such a success!

Buddies
Friday afternoon, every other week is …. Buddy time! This is always met with smiles and enthusiasm as the children meet together with their buddy class. It is a great way to provide opportunity for community across the year groups. The older children love pairing up with the younger cohorts participating enthusiastically in a plethora of activities.
This week as an example 5/6P and 1/2J headed over to North Campus to observe and enjoy the animals in the farm area. This linked beautifully with the Integrated topic of Animals for the Years 1 ‘s and 2’s.
We looked at the geese, the alpacas and the sheep and what was growing in the raised garden beds. A rich learning time, marvelling at God’s wonderful creative hand and providing a platform for discussion and friendly chatter between the two classes.
We encourage this unity for older children to nurture and care for the younger members of the Primary team. Ask your child who their buddy is and what they did during their buddy time!
3/4 Art
Years 3/4 were able to experiment with a new method of applying paint to create a background. The students loved using squeegees to drag paint across their pages to create a colourful back drop for their work.
3/4 Science Fair
Boom, fizz, pop, crash, bang, bounce, boing, crackle, bubble, splash! These are just some of the sounds that were heard at the incredible 3/4 Science Fair in the last week of Term 2.
Students worked with a partner to choose an exciting experiment to research and write a set of instructions called a procedural text. Once their writing piece was published, they each compiled a shopping list of materials required to be able to present their findings to the Bayside Community.
There were explosions, chemical reactions, tornadoes, school-made lava lamps, magnetic connections, bouncy raw eggs and water illusions, to name a few. Students worked very hard to make the fair a success and felt proud of their efforts. Thank you to all the students and parents who attended. We hope you enjoyed it as much as the 3/4 students and teachers did!

3/4 Camp ADANAC
The cold, drizzly weather of Monday morning couldn’t dull the buzz of excitement as the grade 3/4 students readied themselves for camp. The first school camp for many, we headed off to CYC Camp ADANAC for three days of fun, adventure, and fellowship.
Upon arrival the excitement grew as the students set up their cabins and had a tour of the beautiful facilities that ADANAC offered.
As activities began, the weather cleared and we were blessed with an afternoon of adventures, including canoeing, hut building, and cooking damper over an open fire.
A delicious and generous dinner was then followed by a lovely devotion, and a movie with popcorn. Our sleepy campers then headed to bed.
Day two held even more delicious food and a myriad of adventures. We were truly blessed by the weather as the students participated in activities such as flying fox, the low ropes course, archery, and hunting for critters while aqua ponding. Our excited students enthusiastically launched themselves into all activities, and experienced the delight of bravely embracing new challenges.
After a beautiful and encouraging evening devotion, then some karaoke or board games, our campers were ready for a good night’s sleep to recharge for their final day of camp.
Though a little weary, the students woke early to pack cabins and charge into the last day’s activities with just as much enthusiasm as Day One. Students left with new friendships, a greater appreciation for the outdoors, and stories that would be told for years to come.
Throughout the camp, our students continually impressed us with their outstanding resilience and camaraderie. The kind words and gestures exchanged among them were truly heartwarming. The staff at ADANAC sang their praises, noting the impeccable manners and genuine kindness of our young campers.
We thank our Faithful God for His grace and protection throughout camp.

Joyous Reunion for 5/6H
A Heartwarming Video Call with Jayveon
The students of 5/6H experienced a truly heartwarming moment last week as they were able to have a video call with their classmate, Jayveon, who has been in the hospital for over 50 days. This joyous reunion was filled with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt emotions as Jayveon reconnected with his friends and teachers.
Jayveon's healing journey has been nothing short of a miracle, and seeing his smiling face again was a testament to the power of God, hope, resilience, and community support. The Bayside community has been unwavering in their prayers and support for Jayveon and his family during this challenging time, and we are immensely grateful for the collective strength and compassion shown.
Let's continue to keep Jayveon and his family in our thoughts and prayers as he continues to heal and regain his strength. We look forward to the day when Jayveon can return to school and join us in person, bringing his vibrant energy back to 5/6H.

5/6 Mixed Netball Division
On Tuesday 23 July, the Mixed Netball division team went to Jubilee Park to represent the Bayside as well as our Bayside District. The Bayside students who played were: Jimmy and Toby Fraser, Eli Lynch, Thomas Hooper, Kailey Nolen, Hailey Bowes, Holly Thexton, Micah Dawson, Lucas Hooper and Levi Hughes. We played two games, one against Murdoch district, and one against Frankston district. Our first game we played was against Murdoch district, which was a very close game but in the end we lost 14-10.
Our second game was against Frankston which we won 25-3. While we didn’t make it through to Regionals, we’re very proud of the way we played and making it through to Division Play offs. It was a great day and the whole team had heaps of fun. A big thank you to Miss Wright for taking us on the minibus and for coaching us all throughout the year.

Year 5/6s Girls’ Soccer Division
On Friday 26 July we were blessed to attend the girls soccer division playoffs held at the Emil Madsen Reserve with our Years 5/6 girls soccer team. We arrived at 11:30 and got warmed up. The amazing parent helpers that came along brought half time oranges and lollies so we were all set. We watched the first game and knew it was going to be tough. We talked through strategies and encouraged each other. Then it was time to hit the pitch.
We all enjoyed getting together, missing a day of school and playing in the sun. It was a great opportunity and no matter what the score we still had a blast. Unfortunately ended up coming last, but as there were only three teams so we say we came third.
On the way back Mr Klan sadly didn't let us get McDonalds which was unfortunate, but he cares about what we put in our mouths!! Healthy body, healthy mind,.. Or something like that. We came back to school and went home happy with our achievements. And God willing the next year's fives and sixes can try again.
