Holmesglen Health Showcase Excursion
Our “Year 10-12 Holmesglen Health showcase excursion that took place 14th May. There were 28 students Ms Gerostathos and Ms Carmody attended. It was a great day had by all. Students investigated careers and pathways un the Health industry sector.
Students interacted with expert educators in the fields of allied health, simulation, pathology and laboratory services and experienced active, hands-on participation.
Students will learnt about Holmesglen's Bachelor of Nursing degree and other pathways to Health qualifications and explored Vocational pathways options, including VET Lab Skills and Allied Health Assistance. “
Most year 12 students have now been interviewed to discuss their pathway for after year 12. VTAC information was given on the day.
Please come to see me if you have not received that very important information. All year 12 VM students will have mock interviews completed on the 25th of June.
A few VM students attended a work placement during exam time. A very poor effort was made by most students that have not found a placement.
Exam time was not meant to be for these students to be sitting at home. All year 11 VM students should have been attending a placement during exam time.
Only a handful of year 10 students attended a work experience placement so far. It would be great if there are more students for term 3 and 4.
Students who had missed their Morrisby interview last term have been rescheduled for Monday the 24th of June 2024.
29th July 2024:
25 Year 9 students will be attending a Career Launchpad Clean economy excursion on the 19th of July.
This will give them insights into occupations and pathways of sustainability, renewable energy, and climate change.
30th July and 27th August:
A Construction white card training session for Year 10-12 students who have put their name down. This is an all-day event. A reminder for these students to complete the LLN link was sent to their emails. If this is not done sessions will have to be cancelled.
I wish all students, staff, parents, and the community a happy and safe break. See you all in Term 3. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on athena.gerostathos@education.vic.gov.au
