Lord God,
Thank you for Your goodness and everlasting faithfulness.
At all times, we are able to cast our cares and anxieties on You
because You care for us.
Please watch over and guide out young people as they embark on their NAPLAN testing for 2024.
Shine Your light and love on them as they navigate their excitement, tension and nervousness.
NAPLAN does not show us their kindness, their support of others, their drama and art skills.
Remind them, they are made in Your image and are pure, they are more than
their assessment scores.
Amen.
Welcome back to the St Mary of the Angels Scoop!
It has been a brilliant couple of weeks.
You really have to love a school where its young people are thriving in every aspect!
We have seen some amazing achievements in both Diocesan Swimming and Winter Trials, with five of our young people making it to Polding in the sports of; Rugby, Hockey and Swimming. Please have a look at our full write up in the Sporting and Extracurricular Page.
Private Schools Public Savings
A few weeks ago, I outlined the way in which Catholic Schools in NSW are funded. A research report released today by Catholic Schools NSW today clearly outlines the significant yearly savings for the taxpayers of Australia with the ability for parents to have choice over their child's education.

NAPLAN
We have also seen our Year 3 and Year 5 learners, undertaking their NAPLAN Assessments.
Each year the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is undertaken by students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Students participate in tests for writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.
NAPLAN 2024 commenced yesterday, Wednesday 13 March with Writing, today we had 'Reading', Monday 18th March will be 'Conventions of Language' and Tuesday 19th March will be Numeracy.
NAPLAN is just one part of our school learning assessment program. The tests assess literacy and numeracy skills your child is already learning at school. Please avoid commitments during school time during these dates.
Harmony Week 18th-24th March
Australia has a rich and diverse cultural background, Harmony week reminds all of us that whilst we celebrate diversity, there are still many barriers of racism that exist in our community. Harmony Week runs for all of next week, it is a celebration of our differences and gathers all of us together as Australians, regardless of our backgrounds. Promoting inclusivity, respect, diversity and belonging.
Have a safe and blessed fortnight,
Zoe
