From Our Principals

Celebrating ES Day
On Tuesday we recognised our ES Team at SPS. We have amazing ES Staff at our beautiful school. They are an integral part of all that we do. The care they have for your children, is shown each day as they work in our classrooms and offices. They support learning, often offering 1:1 assistance for students throughout the day. They care for our students when they are injured or unwell, and pep them up to continue on with their days and help them navigate problems along the way.
We are very proud of our ES staff and the work that they do and thoroughly enjoy working alongside them each and every day. They contribute lots to our workplace and we couldn’t do what we do without each and every one of them.
Education Week
We had a fabulous turn out to our Grandparents and Special Friends morning last week as part of our Education Week celebrations. It’s lovely to have family and friends visiting our classrooms and seeing us in action. It’s important for your children to be able to showcase their learning and classrooms to others. Thank you for supporting our special activities.
Wonderful results from our teaching practices
Each year, new data is published on school performance, calculated across a range of measures from the previous year’s results. It is very pleasing to see that our overall learning results from last year have risen to the highest category — HIGH.
2025 Achievements
2026 Achievements
This is a fabulous achievement for our school and demonstrates that the work we have been putting into our teaching and learning practices is paying off. This assessment is based on our 2025 NAPLAN results and 2025 reporting assessments.
Congratulations to our hardworking and dedicated teachers, who continually embrace new knowledge, trial new approaches, evaluate their impact, and adapt their practice. Their commitment to continuous improvement is greatly appreciated. Congratulations also to our curriculum leaders for staying informed about evidence-based practices emerging from the Department of Education and leading their implementation across our school.
It is extremely pleasing to see our school achieve this category.
Enrolment Time
Spread the word – it’s time to enrol in Foundation 2027.
Crazy Hair Friday
Tomorrow is CRAZY HAIR DAY. Our SRC are raising funds for play equipment to be purchased for our new HEART garden. SCHOOL UNIFORM IS REQUIRED to be worn on the day.
ICAS Assessments 2026
We are pleased to again offer our students the opportunity to participate in the internationally recognised ICAS Assessments this year.
ICAS is an optional academic competition that allows students to challenge themselves and demonstrate their higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills across a range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee and Digital Technologies.
These assessments provide valuable feedback, with detailed reports that highlight student strengths and areas for growth, as well as certificates recognising each student’s achievement.
If you would like your child to participate, registrations are completed directly by families via the ICAS Parent Portal. Please refer to the Compass post and attached information letter for full details, including subject options, costs and key dates.
Registrations close on Monday 27th July.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
