Celebrating Mercy Week

Celbrating Mercy Week at Joey's

This week we held Mercy Week at St Joseph's. This week was held to acknowledge and celebrate the work of the Sisters of Mercy who established our school back in 1889. In class, students learnt about the work of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy and how they served those in their communities. Following in their footsteps now, we thought it would be nice to also serve others in our local community.

To beautifully conclude our Mercy Week Celebrations, our students engaged in a thoughtful service activity during Peer Support.

They creatively crafted small tea pots accompanied with pouches designed to hold tea bags. A personal touch was added to these gifts, as students wrote heartfelt notes on the back of the teapots.

These handmade tokens of kindness will soon be distributed to the elderly residents at both the Junee Hospital and Cooinda Court, offering a moment of comfort and connection.
