Student achievements

A big congratulations to Sasha Bennett (Year 9), Hal McCormack (Year 10) and Lillian Riley (Year 7) who competed in the Rostrum Voice of Youth public speaking competition  recently. All three students worked hard on their prepared speech, presented beautifully and completed the Short Notice Prep 3 mins speech section well.

Sasha was one of three students chosen as the winner of the Junior section (Year 7-9). We wish her all the best as she prepares to take part in the State Final in Launceston on Saturday 15 June.

A huge congratulations to Alicia Dale (Year 11) who made history last Friday, becoming the first Tasmanian female to win the Australia Cup in 44 years!

In the girls' final at the Domain Tennis Centre, Alicia served up exceptional skill and determination on the court to secure the win against her opponent (6-1 5-7 10-7) and the trophy. A remarkable achievement, Alicia and a testament to the hard work you've put into the sport!

Charlotte Wall (Year 9) has been recognised for her contribution to the cystic fibrosis community at the 2024 Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards, which were held recently. Charlotte is one half of the 'Shredding for Cystic Fibrosis' duo who won the People's Choice Award and the Spirit Super Connecting Communities Award.

The pair have been on a mission to combine their love for skateboarding with helping those with cystic fibrosis, including raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania, and are very deserving of this honour. Congratulations, Charlotte!

The team will travel to the Home of the Matildas, La Trobe University Bundoora, Victoria for the National Youth Championships to be held between 3-8 July 2024.

Well done Zarah on this exciting achievement!
