Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: June 12th 2026
This week, our school community will come together to celebrate a beautiful and deeply meaningful tradition in the Catholic Church: The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
For our students, we often talk about love in terms of "filling a bucket" or sharing our hearts. The Sacred Heart is the ultimate reminder of that message. It symbolises Jesus’ boundless, unconditional love, His deep compassion, and His open heart for every single one of us.
The Gospel read on this Feast Day (Matthew 11:25-30) holds a very special message for a primary school. In it, Jesus speaks directly about children, thanking God for revealing the wonders of His love not to the self-proclaimed "wise and learned," but to the little ones. He also shares a beautiful invitation with us: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
This Gospel reminds us that the Sacred Heart is a safe haven. Jesus describes His own heart as "gentle and humble," encouraging us to bring our worries, our tiredness, and our mistakes to Him. It inspires our school community to treat one another with that same gentleness, creating a playground and classroom environment where every child can find a place of welcome, comfort, and rest.
The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be celebrated at this Friday's Mass led by our Year 2-5 SRC leaders. All are welcome
Thank you for your continued partnership in nurturing both the hearts and minds of our beautiful students.
