TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 8 of Term 1.

We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.

Where have all the days gone - time passes very quickly! We’re excited to keep you updated with all the latest things happening at TheirCare. We would like to welcome all of our new families and children who are attending TheirCare this week. We hope you all had a great time.

This week we have had a quiet morning except for Tuesday where we had 35 children in attendance. It is always full of fun in the afternoons at TheirCare - we had 60 plus children in attendance for both Monday and Wednesday and 80 plus children in attendance for Tuesday and Thursday. We also had several walk-ins this week. We would like to remind all families to please pre-book as our numbers are increasing and we might not be able to accommodate walk-ins. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any concerns or issues. Thank you very much for all your unwavering support for TheirCare.

Our theme for this week is “Autumn”. This week’s activities include Autumn leaf colouring pages, origami, special-tissue paper craft activity led by one of our talented TheirCare children, and a paper plane craft. We also played Go Fish, Spoons, Joe, and our ultimate favourite UNO! Everyone gets very competitive to claim victory at the end! We are lucky that we have access to both the oval and the playground. We started the afternoons enjoying our afternoon tea outside – on the oval, and then we played Everybody’s It which is very popular, we also played football and soccer. After some time we switched to the playground where children played downball, built a massive sandcastle in the sandpit and showcased gymnastic skills on the monkey bars. It has been a crazy, but fun week at TheirCare.

Prep Update

We would like to let our prep families know that our prep children have been amazing developing their teamwork skills and making new friends. They have been very confident and have shown great independence attending TheirCare. Our prep children are being picked up by one of our TheirCare staff 10 minutes before the bell. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss them with us.

Pupil of the Week

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Thomas Doherty for his courage and enthusiasm in volunteering to read the Acknowledgement of Country at the start of our session.

Well done Thomas! We are incredibly proud of you.

TC Tucker

We always look forward to our TC Tucker menu. This Thursday morning we have fruit and yoghurt parfait on the menu. The children are very excited and are looking forward to it. We would like to encourage families to submit a recipe that you would like us to try at TheirCare!

Announcement

We would like to let all families know that if you are dropping your child for the morning session or picking them up in the afternoon you can now go through the main gate at Argyle Street or use the back gate on Blandford Street. Thank you for your understanding.

A reminder to all families to please book your children as early as possible for the Holiday program as the numbers are limited.

We would like to let all families know that it will be Leanne’s last week with TheirCare next week as she will be leaving us to focus on her studies. We wish her all the best!
