Ride to School

Today is National Ride to School Day and we are proud to say there was barely a car in the car park!  We had children walking, scooting, roller blading and riding! Thank you to all our families for the extra effort you went to make this happen today. Thank you to Miss Riley and the SRC for encouraging our community to take part.

Emergency Management

As part of our safety processes, we aim to run regular emergency management drills.

On Tuesday, we ran a 'Stay in Place' drill during the second snack break. Students were to be commended for the way they stopped and listened to instructions whilst outside playing, they moved to their classrooms calmy, and then awaited further instructions. Our pretend scenario was that there was a smoke smell in the area and so we had to head indoors and close doors and windows. The drill ran for approximately 8 minutes by the time we checked in with all classes and made sure students were accounted for. Students were then able to go outside for the second half of their play.

Teachers had made sure that they had spoken to their classes prior to the drill today to remind them of expectations in an emergency situation, and to let them know that a drill was coming at some stage this week.

Excellence at OLA

We celebrate achievements at OLA every day in the classroom. Outstanding achievement is celebrated at every assembly in the front of the school. Congratulations to all the students who received an award last week.
