New -  Prep's Learn About Easter

To help us understand more about Easter in Prep at the moment and learn about new life, we have put our chicken eggs in an incubator and are watching them every day to see what happens.

We have learnt that we now wait for 21 days for new life to hatch in our classroom.

New - Grade 5 Science Excursion

As part of our Science unit Animal Survival, the Grade 5 students attended the RiverConnect ‘Bees and Blossoms’ environmental education program at Cussen Park in Tatura.

Emily from RiverConnect and Clancy Lester (the BeeMan) led us through an engaging 1.5-hour session where we learned all about pollinators, explored the park on a bushwalk, and participated in a hands-on bee hotel workshop. We discovered how important native bees are to our environment and how we can help protect their habitats.

Along the way, we were lucky enough to spot a sleepy possum, colourful parrots and even thousands of bats!

Check out our handy work below — you might even feel inspired to create a bee hotel for your own backyard.

New - Founder’s Day Celebration – 90 Years of St Mary’s!

What a wonderful day of celebration we had at St. Mary's last week as we marked 90 years of faith, learning and community.

Our day began with a memorable liturgy, bringing us together in gratitude for those who have shaped our school across the decades. Students then enjoyed fun activity rotations, building house spirit and learning more about the rich history of our Founders. The excitement continued as we shared delicious House cakes for morning tea, followed by a fantastic BBQ lunch with our families and community.

A special thank you to the many community members who joined us throughout the day — your presence made our celebration even more meaningful. We are also very grateful to Azem and Vicki for their wonderful support with the BBQ at lunchtime.

Thank you to all staff for your incredible involvement in the preparations and your support across the day. Your commitment ensured our students not only celebrated our past but also honoured our story as we look to the future with hope.

Happy Founders' Day, St Mary’s!

Have a look at a video from the day.
