A Message from Keir and Emma

Welcome Back
Welcome to Term 4. We hope you found time over the holidays to do the things that fill your bucket. It’s hard to believe that we are in the final term of the year. For those who have looked over the term calendar, you will notice that there are many exciting events coming up. If your child didn’t bring home a printed calendar at the end of last term, they can collect one from their teacher or the front office.
We warmly welcome back Rebekah Tankard, who was on leave throughout Term 3. Bek will resume her role as SRK classroom teacher (Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays) and Wellbeing Leader (Wednesdays and Thursdays). We extend a huge thank you to Scarlett McKee and Kate Middleton, who taught in SRK throughout Bek’s leave.
Keir is on leave this week. If you require support from leadership, please contact Emma (emma.mallia@education.vic.gov.au), Lilly(Lilly.vandyk@education.vic.gov.au) or the front office.
SunSmart
A reminder that throughout the rest of the year we require all students to wear a SunSmart hat whenever they are outside; this includes during recess and lunch, during PE and other outdoor activities. SunSmart hats should either be a hat with a broad-brim that goes all the way around or a legionnaire's cap that has the brim at the front and a flap at the back to protect the neck. Broad-brimmed hats are available to purchase for $15 from the front office. If your child does not have a SunSmart hat, they will be asked by staff to remain in the shade, which may impact their play time and/or their learning time.
Students Leaving in 2026
Planning for the 2027 school year is well underway. An important part of this planning is knowing how many students are in each cohort, which helps us decide on class structures. To assist with this, we kindly ask any families who will not be returning to BNWPS in 2027 to inform the school office.
