Principal's Patch

Hello everyone,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. It’s hard to believe that we only have three weeks left until the September holidays! The term is flying by, and I’m so proud of everything our students, staff, and community have achieved together so far.

Gold Coast Eisteddfod Success

Congratulations to our school ensembles on their outstanding achievements at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod! Our Senior Band received 3rd place and a Gold Award, our Junior Band achieved 2nd place and a Gold Award, and our Senior Strings placed 1st with a Gold Award. These incredible results are a testament to the talent, commitment, and teamwork of our students. A very special thank you goes to Mrs Chandler and Miss Kesting for their dedication and expertise in preparing our ensembles for success.

Rugby League Grand Finals

We are extremely proud of our Year 4 and Year 6 Rugby League teams who made it to the grand finals this year, both competing against Currumbin SS. While we didn’t come away with a win, both teams played exceptionally well and represented our school with pride, resilience, and sportsmanship. Thank you to Mr Kelson, Mr Bowden, and Mrs McLaren for their coaching and support, and also to Mr Fiataui Ualesi for assisting with the Year 6 team.

Slime Run

Next Thursday we are excited to be holding our much-anticipated Slime Run! This is always a highlight for our students and promises to be an awesome day. Please continue your fundraising efforts—every contribution helps support our P&C.

Art Exhibition

Next Wednesday marks a very special occasion—our school’s first ever Art Exhibition! We invite all families to join us in celebrating the creativity of our young artists in the Rainbow Room (Library) from 3:00–5:00pm. A big thank you to Mr Cocks for initiating this event and for his ongoing passion and commitment to the Arts in our school.

Year 4 Camp

A huge thank you to our dedicated Year 4 team for giving their time and energy to take our students on an unforgettable camp at Currumbin Valley Farm School. The camp was a wonderful success, providing rich learning opportunities and lasting memories. Our students were exceptional in their behaviour and enthusiasm—well done, Year 4!

PREP 2026

If you have a child starting Prep at Palm Beach State School in 2026 and they have an older sibling already attending the school, we kindly ask that you contact the school office as soon as possible if you haven’t already begun the enrolment process.

Please call us on 5520 8333 to:

  • Collect an enrolment pack, and
  • Arrange a mandatory enrolment interview with the Deputy Principal.

Please note that one-on-one interviews are filling fast and will only be available for the next couple of weeks. After this time, all interviews will be conducted in a group setting.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter to ensure a smooth enrolment process for your family.

Eden Academy - Car Park Reminder

We’ve been contacted by our neighbouring  Child Care Centre - Eden Academy regarding ongoing issues with families using their car park at school pick-up time.

Please note: this car park is not for school use. Some families have been parking there and walking over to collect students. This is causing significant congestion for their own families and creating serious safety risks during busy periods.

We kindly ask all families to avoid using the centre’s car park under any circumstances. Your cooperation will help us keep the area safe and accessible for everyone.

Student Free Day

Please note that next Friday, 5 September, is a Student Free Day. Our school will be closed for students on this day.
