Message from the (Acting) Principal
Achieving Excellence Together

Dear Families,
Welcome to the end of Term 2. While Mr Uzunovski has been on a well-deserved break (managing to fit in some cheering for the Socceroos) we have been business as usual at Albanvale Primary School.
After the success of Achievement Week you will all have had a chance to read your child's reports (available on Compass) and meet with your child's teacher at the Parent Teacher Conferences this week. Seeing such a great turnout to these meetings is part of what makes Albanvale PS great - it demonstrates your commitment to your child's success. Our collaboration as a school community - students, teachers, family - creates the perfect environment for us all to thrive.
Now that we've wrapped up Term 2 it's time to look ahead to Term 3, and in true Albanvale style we aren't slowing down. We have two of our favourite events coming up in the first half of the term! Our Preps are coming up to 100 Days BRIGHTER and we can't wait to celebrate with them in the second week of term. And of course we have the much anticipated return of LITFEST26! Mr Taylor and the team have been hard at work to make this the best one yet. Have you started planning your costume yet? Make sure you have a look at the Important Dates so you can make some time for Reading Cafe morning.
Staffing Updates
It's always bittersweet saying goodbye to our amazing staff, and this time is obviously no exception. Firstly we say "Arrivederci" to Mrs Lipoma, who is moving to returning to a full time role at a secondary school. We also say goodbye to Miss Panteli as she starts the next adventure in her life on the other side of Melbourne. We appreciate your dedication and contribution to our school, and know you will be greatly missed by all. Whoever takes up the MC duties at the dress up parade for LITEFEST this year has BIG shoes to fill.
With the goodbyes come the welcomes, with Mrs Langdon taking over 5/6B for the rest of the 2026 school year. Mrs Langdon is well known to our school community, having worked with the 5/6 team these last few months.
5/6C will also see some changes, with Ms James moving to our Enrichment Program and Mrs Froggatt shortly commencing maternity leave. We wish Mrs Froggatt and her growing family all the best as they approach this next exciting chapter in their lives. But don't worry 5/6C - Ms Raval will be taking the reins for the rest of 2026. Ms Raval has been teaching at our school the past month, a great chance for her to get to know the students.
Prep 2027 - Preparing our Little Learners
Prep enrolments for next year are open, and we are so happy to see Albanvale PS is a school of choice within our community. At this stage, we have decided to open an additional class to maintain smaller classes in Prep for next year. This means we have 11 more places on offer for next year, so if you know of anyone looking to enrol at school, please encourage them to contact us as soon as possible.
Our school readiness program has been such a success we've had to increase the days we run it. Our excellent educators run the program for those pre-enrolled for Albanvale next year to help get them ready for school, as well as give them a head start with their literacy and numeracy. These free, one hour sessions are purposefully kept to small numbers to allow each future student the support they need to ease their transition to school. At this stage we only have a few more spots left, so make sure you get your pre-enrolment in as soon as possible so your child can start Little Learners in Term 3.
If you have a child due to start Prep next year (or know someone who does) I strongly encourage you to pre-enrol as soon as possible so they can experience the fun and the Albanvale advantage of Little Learners. Tours are also available for those who want to learn more about to the Albanvale Advantage - just contact the office to organise a time.
Enjoy your school holiday break and we look forward to seeing you back in Term 3!
Achieve Excellence, Together.
