A message from the Principal Team

Principal’s Newsletter

As we reach the end of Term 2, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy and successful semester at Armstrong Creek School.

Throughout the term, our students have embraced a wide range of learning opportunities both within and beyond the classroom. A particular highlight has been our Year 6 Camp and Year 4 Camp. These experiences provided students with opportunities to challenge themselves, build resilience, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories. It was wonderful to hear the stories of teamwork, personal growth, and adventure that emerged from both camps.

Across the school, students have also participated in numerous excursions, sporting events, and community-based learning experiences. These opportunities enrich classroom learning and help students develop important skills, knowledge, and connections with the world around them. Thank you to our staff for their planning and dedication in making these experiences possible.

I would also like to congratulate all students who were recognised at our End of Term Assembly. Whether receiving an academic, values-based, leadership, or citizenship award, each recipient should be proud of their efforts and achievements. We know that these awards represent not only individual success but also the commitment, perseverance, and positive contributions our students make to our school community each day.

As my time as Acting Principal comes to a close, I would like to sincerely thank our students, staff, families, and broader community for the warm welcome, support, and partnership you have shown me throughout the term. It has been a privilege to lead Armstrong Creek School and witness the outstanding work taking place across the school. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated staff and supportive families who are committed to ensuring the best outcomes for every student.

At Armstrong Creek School, we know that strong partnerships between school and home make a real difference for our students. We are currently seeking parent and community volunteers to join our Parents and Community Committee (PACC). The PACC plays an important role in supporting school initiatives, fostering community connections, and providing opportunities for families to contribute to the life of our school. Whether you can offer ideas, assist with events, or simply want to become more involved in our school community, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested in joining the PACC, please contact the school office for more information.

Please note that the Bike Shed Gate will be closed on wet days or whenever flooding makes the gate unsafe to access. We understand this may cause some inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work towards a long-term solution. I am currently working closely with Downer and the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) to address this issue. On days when the Bike Shed Gate is closed, please use either of the Central Boulevard gates to enter and exit the school grounds.

I would like to provide our community with an update regarding the Principal position at Armstrong Creek School. The substantive Principal position process has commenced, and in the meantime, my Acting Principal appointment has been extended until 23 August, pending the outcome of the appointment process.

I will continue to keep our community informed and will provide an update as soon as further information becomes available.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your ongoing support, encouragement, and kindness during my time in this role. It has been a privilege to lead our wonderful school community, and I look forward to continuing our work together over the coming weeks.

I wish all members of our school community a safe, restful, and enjoyable winter break. I hope the holidays provide an opportunity to recharge, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy some well-deserved rest. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 3.

Warm regards,

Lizzie Tout
