Library - Children's Book Week

BBPS Book Character Parade 

Our annual whole school Book Character parade is being held in week 6. 

When: Wednesday 21 August

Where: On Exon or the Hall if inclement weather

Time: 9.15am - 10.30am (parents and carers welcome and encouraged to attend!).

Hosted by: Our fantastic Library Captains and a suprise MC! 

Dress: As your favourite book character!

Tips for costumes: 

1. Have fun creating your outfit!
2. Use what your already have at home (eg dress up box, face paint)
3.  Borrow from friends
4. Visit the op shop or 2 dollar shop for ideas and cheap outfits
5. Create from cardboard boxes! 
6. Let's celebrate and enjoy all that is fantastic about the many memorable characters we meet on our  reading travels! 

The parade is held during Australian Children's Book Week which celebrates and awards prizes to this year's best author or illustrator from various categories.   Titles of the finalists for the can be found in our school library,  local libraries and Story box library.

The challenge is an excellent  program for students to set and achieve their own reading goal.  The library encourages students and parents to recommend their favourite books or titles they would like to see in our library via the padlet link below:
