Christ beside me: Christ before me; Christ behind me: Christ within me.
Good afternoon, families,
The Season of Lent started on Wednesday with the celebration of Ash Wednesday.
Lent is a 40-day solemn Christian season of preparation for Easter, spanning from Ash Wednesday (Feb 18, 2026) to Holy Thursday (Apr 2, 2026), excluding Sundays. It focuses on reflection, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, symbolising Jesus’ 40 days in the desert.
Pancake Tuesday
Thank you to all the mums who came to help with distributing the pancakes. It is something that all the students look forward to each year.
Father Michael’s visits
This week, Father Michael visited 6GL and preps. Next Tuesday, Father Michael will visit the Year 1 classes.
Assembly 4SN & 4 SW
This week, 4SN and 4SW presented their assembly to the whole school. It was lovely to see so many parents at the assembly.
Parents and Friends
We had our first P&F meeting this week. The P&F raised $42,000 last year.
We spent $21,000 on school signage, creating the flagpole garden, upgrading gardens and painting the Garden to Kitchen roof and the playground out the front of the year 6 area.
We have $24,000 left in the P&F account. I asked those parents attending for suggestions on what we could raise money for this year. Thank you for the suggestions, and I will take all ideas into consideration.
Swimming training and District swimming carnival
This week is the last week of swimming training. On Thursday, we will have a little breakfast before training finishes.
The District Swimming Carnival is on Fri 27 Feb at The Pines swimming pool.
