Child Safeguarding

Victorian Child Safe Standard 8: Emphasizes that staff and volunteers should be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training. This standard ensures that all personnel who interact with children have the necessary training and support to recognize, respond to, and prevent child abuse and neglect. 

As part of our commitment to Child Safe Standards, our school continues to ensure that all staff and volunteers are well trained and supported to keep children safe and promote their wellbeing. 

At St Joseph’s, we support child safety and wellbeing through: 

• clear school policies that guide our practices 
• a thorough volunteer registration process to ensure all helpers are informed and supported 
• ongoing staff training to maintain best practice and keep students safe
