Farewell Year 6

Class of 2025

Our Year 6 students are ready to begin their secondary school journeys, leaving POPS with confidence, skills, and a strong foundation for the future.

Last night’s Year 6 Graduation Ceremony was a special and memorable evening shared with students and families. The Honourable Mr Matthew Gregg MP, Member for Deakin, presented the Citizenship Award to Georgia H, and Mrs Nicole Werner MP, State Member for Warrandyte, presented the Academic Excellence Award to Sienna H.

Additional awards presented were:

  • Mandarin Award: Tara W

  • Visual Arts Award: Nicholas G-P

  • Performing Arts Award: Kayla A

  • PE and Sports Awards: Lacey E and Beau D

Award descriptions can be found on the Year 6 2025 Graduation Awards  page.

We were inspired by former POPS student and 2015 graduate Maddy B, who shared her journey beyond POPS. A highlight of the evening was the confident and heartfelt speeches from School Captains Aditi K and Luca S, and Vice Captains Juliette D and Beau D, available on the From our School Captains  page.

The celebrations concluded with dinner, a lively disco, and plenty of photo booth fun, creating memories to last a lifetime. We wish our Year 6 students every success as they take this next exciting step.

Farewell Assembly

On Friday, 19 December, we will officially farewell our graduating Year 6 students. The assembly will begin at 12:30 pm in the gym, followed by a guard of honour as the Year 6 students leave POPS.

Foundation to Year 5 students will then return to their classrooms to collect their bags and will be dismissed at 1:30 pm. TheirCare will be available for families requiring care after this time, please book directly through TheirCare. We wish our Year 6 students every success as they begin this exciting next chapter. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

As we approach the end of the year, it’s wonderful to reflect on how quickly the time has flown. This year has been filled with growth and achievement, and we are proud of the personal and academic progress of all our students, every success, big or small, deserves celebration.

Have a happy and safe festive season,

Ms Garrity
