In mathematics, they actively seek opportunities to extend their understanding by tackling complex problems and exploring advanced concepts with enthusiasm. Their participation in the Mathematics Olympiad highlights strong analytical skills and a readiness to engage beyond the standard curriculum. As an avid reader, they show a deep enjoyment of literature and a thoughtful, mature approach to understanding texts, often drawing meaning and insight beyond the surface.

 

Their writing is a particular strength, characterised by clarity, creativity, and purpose. They confidently craft engaging pieces across a range of genres, developing a distinctive voice through careful choices of language, structure, and style. They respond positively to feedback and use it effectively to refine and strengthen their work, demonstrating a genuine commitment to growth.

 

As they transition to high school, their intellectual curiosity, diligence, and creativity will continue to support success across all learning areas and serve them well in the years ahead.

 

Deakin Shield Citizenship Award- Georgia H

This recipient is a remarkable citizen who consistently demonstrates kindness, respect, and a genuine willingness to help others. She approaches every task with care, optimism, and integrity, setting an outstanding example for her peers and embodying the true spirit of our school values.

 

As a dedicated House Captain, she leads with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. She plays an active role in supporting Walk to School mornings, thoughtfully organising the fruit for students to enjoy. Her commitment to encouraging healthy habits and a positive school culture stands out among her many contributions.

 

Beyond her leadership duties, she can always be relied upon to lend a helping hand, act with fairness, and treat everyone with kindness. Her community minded approach, maturity, and quiet determination make her an excellent role model and citizen within our school.

This student has consistently represented our school values, strived for excellence, and actively participated in Chinese language and cultural learning. Throughout the Chinese learning journey, this student has shown a positive attitude, strong commitment, respect and a willingness to challenge themselves in every lesson and activity. They have continually improved their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. They not only work hard to learn Chinese but also shows respect for others and collaborates well with their peers, demonstrating our school’s core values through their actions. This student has also participated enthusiastically in Chinese cultural activities. Whether during festival celebrations, role plays, or cultural experiences, they have shown genuine interest and enthusiasm.

 

2025 - Performing Arts Award- Kayla A

This student joined the POPS choir in Year 3 and Year 4 and has been an active student with Stage School Australia in recent years. They are a quieter student at POPS, a quiet achiever. But when they are committed to singing a song, we see a confident and powerful performer! They sing from the heart with raw emotion. This student has sung major parts of songs in two 

school productions and has performed their own singing solos at the soiree events in 2023 and 2025. They have worked closely with Mrs Bowen when working on a singing performance for POPS and follow their direction and guidance. This student has grown into a talented and inspiring individual and we wish them the best in all they put their heart and mind to.

 

2025 - Visual Art Award- Nicholas G-P

This student demonstrates creativity, passion and effort to their art making. This of course leads to a very high standard across the board with many, many 'frame worthy' artworks being made. This student is someone who is gutsy enough to extend themselves beyond the basic instruction. This student applies their knowledge and understanding of the elements of art to enhance their work, taking risks which sometimes result in disappointment and sometimes in happy success.

 

2025 - PE Awards

The PE and Sport Award is presented to this year’s female recipient, a student who has consistently demonstrated talent, determination, and leadership. Over the years, she has represented the school with pride, competing in Cross Country and Athletics carnivals and achieving division-level competition through her strong performances. A talented footballer and basketballer, her determination and fierce competitiveness truly set her apart. Beyond her sporting achievements, she has been an excellent leader as Community House Captain and is always helpful, eager to assist, and thoughtful in her approach to others. Her hard work and commitment have led to many successful achievements in sport, and her leadership and positive energy have been highly valued.

The PE and Sport Award is presented to a talented male athlete who has excelled in every aspect of Physical Education and sport. He consistently demonstrates strong athletic ability and an outstanding work ethic. This young man is particularly talented in Athletics and AFL and has represented the school at high levels in Track and Field and Cross Country. Last year, he reached regional level in Athletics, showcasing his remarkable sprinting and jumping ability. His dedication, drive, focus, and passion for improvement truly set him apart. He is friendly, eager to demonstrate skills in class, and consistently leads by example. He has shown exceptional leadership both on and off the court and field.
