(❁´◡`❁)

The start of Term 2 has been a vibrant tapestry of movement, creativity, and heartfelt connections in our Before and After School Care program. Each week, we've embraced a new theme, offering children opportunities to explore, celebrate, and imagine.

🩰 Dance Week: Expressing Through Movement

We kicked off the term with Dance Week, where children delved into various dance styles, from classical ballet to contemporary rhythms. This week not only enhanced their physical coordination and rhythm but also boosted their confidence and self-expression. Dance has been shown to improve motor skills, cognitive development, and emotional well-being in young children .

💐 Mother’s Day Celebrations: Honouring Our Heroes

In the lead-up to Mother's Day, our activities focused on honouring the special women in our lives. Children engaged in crafting personalized cards and gifts, participated in storytelling sessions about maternal figures, and shared stories of their own mothers. These activities not only celebrated maternal love but also taught children the values of gratitude and appreciation .

🌌 Star Wars Week: Galactic Adventures and Learning

Star Wars Week transported our children to a galaxy far, far away. Through themed games, storytelling, and creative projects, they explored the cosmos, learning about stars, planets, and the importance of teamwork and resilience. Incorporating such themes into learning activities can enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills .

🏰 Fairy Tale Week: Imagination Unleashed

Join Us for

Fairy Tale Week was a journey into the world of imagination. Children engaged in role-playing, created their own stories, and participated in themed crafts. This week fostered creativity, language development, and social skills as children collaborated and brought their favourite tales to life . This fun theme will be continued into education week with a fairy party to celebrate.

As we look back on these enriching experiences, it's clear that each theme has contributed to the holistic development of our children. Through movement, celebration, exploration, and imagination, we've nurtured their growth and connection to the world around them.

We look forward to continuing this journey in the coming weeks, with more themes that inspire, educate, and delight.

Our staffing structure for Semester One is detailed below:

permanent teaching staff

 Coordinator - Lily Hartley

2IC - Oriane Cleary

Oriane has recently been promoted to be 2ic at Upwey south TheirCare. she has been working with the company for a bout a year and studying to be a teacher. Oriane will be working alongside Lily everyday and be stepping up in the absence of Lily. Oriane has a super unique set of skill, being amazing at  fine jewellery making. She has already been welcomed so wonderfully by the children, with them nicknaming her OREO.

Rotating casual educators - Samara, Kurtis, Adelle and Fatima

Holiday program coordinators- Lily, Harry & Oriane

Staffing arrangements often change due to the needs of the service and growing numbers, there will be some new faces, but we understand consistency is important in building connections and creating a strong sense of wellbeing for our children.

If you have a child in Foundation or wish to start attending our fantastic program in 2025 you can register at TheirCare now. Booking is not available as of yet, but I will keep you updated. It is always best to book for OSCH as far in advance as possible, to ensure we have the proper staffing ratio needed for the safety of our service.

Feedback and suggestions

In order to run an effective and personalized program, we rely on community involvement. The easiest way for us to ensure we are catering to the needs of your children and family is through suggestions and feedback. Please don't hesitate to speak to me directly or leave a note in our feedback box with any concerns or ideas for the service.  We love hearing anything that can help us exceed.

In order to access the OSHC service, families must register prior to booking. During the registration process, you will be asked to provide details such as emergency contacts, medical requirements, dietary needs, etc.
