Overview
Term Two is off to a busy start! We've had athletics day, swimming week, Mother's day and cross country, and we've even managed to fit some learning in too!
Inquiry
During Inquiry this term we have been learning to code and program. Students have had the opportunity to work with BeeBots, a programmable bee robot that completes a sequence of directional steps based on the users input. Students programmed the BeeBots to manoeuvre around obstacles, draw a straight line and a circle on paper, perform a synchronised dance and a mirrored movement.
Athletics Day
What a day we had for athletics! The weather was beautiful, and we are so proud of our students for having a go!
Swimming Week
We had a wonderful and busy week completing our swimming lessons at Knox Leisureworks. The students thoroughly enjoyed learning how to swim, but the highlight was always going to be survival day and fun day. The students loved wearing clothes into the pool and learning how to float while wearing a life jacket. Fun Friday's highlight was the waterslide, but the teachers loved watching the students working as a team to play basketball and jumping into the deep pool. Well done on a fantastic week!
Cross Country
Our students were fantastic during cross country, and we are so proud of everyone for participating! Thank you to those who helped out on the day.
Mother's Day
We hope our mums and other significant female influences had a wonderful Mother's Day. Thank you to those who were able to come into the school and celebrate with us. We hope you enjoyed the activities on offer.
Reminders
It is an expectation in Grade Three and , that students are reading for 20 minutes each night and recording their reading into their diary. Students can choose how they read: independently, to an adult, to a sibling, or even to a teddy or pet.
We are focusing on learning our times tables, and last term each student came home with a laminated times table chart. It is expected that students are practicing their times tables at home each night.
