Welcome to Edition 8!
It has been another busy fortnight for our Year 9 and 10 students, with plenty of exciting opportunities to learn, connect and get involved.
Our Year 9 students have and multiple incursions this fortnight. Students participated in a Courage to Care program, where they explored the importance of respect, understanding discrimination and learned how we can all contribute to a more inclusive school community. They also took part in the Swinburne Introduction, where students began exploring what work looks like, the world of employment and the different pathways and opportunities available to them.
Our Year 10 students had the opportunity to get hands-on through Girls in Trade, experiencing a range of different trades and developing an understanding of the skills and pathways involved. Our boys also participated in Trade and Talk, which provided an opportunity to explore different trades while having some great conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
It has also been fantastic to see so many Year 9 and 10 students getting involved in interschool sport, with our basketball teams representing the school. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship shown by our students.
This term is flying, with us already halfway through! There are still plenty of exciting events and opportunities to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
Changes to the Year 9 and 10 Team
Towards the end of Semester 2, Neil McMorran commenced a new role at Melba College. We would like to congratulate Neil on his appointment as Assistant Principal – Wellbeing and Engagement. In this role, Neil will continue to support our Year 9 and Year 10 students while also leading wellbeing and engagement initiatives across the entire school.
We would also like to welcome our new Year Level Leaders. Caleb Sinn has joined the Middle School team as the Year 9 Year Level Leader, and Lucas Trofimiuk has taken on the role of Year 10 Year Level Leader. We are excited to have Caleb and Lucas supporting our students and families and look forward to the positive impact they will have throughout the year.

- Entry and exit routines
- Students remaining in the classroom during lessons
- Students only leaving for toilet breaks, one at a time and with their diary
- Respectful behaviour and language
- Correct school uniform
- Building positive connections with students
- Consistent implementation of the Mobile Phone Policy
