School Council is happy to announce the appointment of Matt Cook as the ongoing Principal of Keelonith Primary School.
Having served as Acting Principal, Matt is already a valued and familiar member of our school community. Throughout his time in the role, he has demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to student learning and wellbeing, and a deep understanding of our school's values and aspirations.
Please join us in congratulating Matt on this appointment, and look forward to continuing to work with Matt as he leads Keelonith Primary School into the future.

It’s an absolute pleasure to be officially leading Keelonith Primary School. From the first moment I stepped into the school back in Term 4, 2025, when Loren took me around on a tour and introduced me as the Acting Principal, the number of staff and students who came up to say hello was overwhelming. Straight away, I could feel the support, kindness and respect within the school community.
Over the last few months, getting to know more students, staff and families, I have really seen the strong sense of inclusion across the school and the willingness of our community to Fly High. I am looking forward to continuing to work alongside our students, staff and families to build on the great work already happening at Keelonith Primary School and support every student to thrive and excel.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the incredible staff at KPS for the celebrations the other day in recognition of my appointment to the substantive principal position.
The culture at this school is truly incredible, and I feel very fortunate to be part of such a supportive, caring and dedicated team. As you can see from the photo, the staff went above and beyond.
