Dear Families,
Rescheduled Date - Fdn - Yr 2 Athletics Morning
Thursday 27 November, the students in Fdn - Yr2 will be having a ‘Mini Athletics Morning’ held on the school oval. We will focus on participation and encouraging students to do their very best while enjoying the morning.
The students will participate in a variety of events starting from 9.15am and finishing just before 11.00am. The students will compete in modified running events, hurdles, long jump, shot put and discus.
Please note, there is no ‘winner’ awarded as such, as mentioned above, the focus is purely around participation and enjoying the activities.
We encourage students to wear their house colours on the day
Clare- yellow
Francis- green
Backhaus- blue
Mackillop- red
This can include ribbons, face paint, coloured t-shirts etc. The students will participate in their year level.
It would be great to see as many parents there as possible cheering and encouraging the efforts of all students.
We hope it will be a nice day for the event. We will also have a coffee van for you to enjoy!
Repeat - Parents & Friends and Advisory Council - End of Year Meal & Gathering
All parents, who have contributed to our Parents & Friends Community and our School Advisory Council, are invited to attend a meal on Thursday 4 December to celebrate all that has been achieved in 2025.
Where: School meeting room
When: Thursday 4 December @ 6.30 - 8.30pm
BYO: Own drinks
Meal will be provided by Fiona Thompson
Please let the school know if you would like to attend so we can cater appropriately.

Please note that there will be no further P & F meetings or Advisory Council meetings for 2025.
Celebrating Our Young Mathematicians!
We are excited to share some wonderful news about our Year 3 to Year 6 students who recently participated in the Australian Maths Competition. Their hard work, determination, and enthusiasm for problem-solving truly shone through and we are very proud of their achievements!
To celebrate their success, we invite you to join us at assembly next Friday November 14, @ 2:45 PM. This will be a fantastic opportunity to applaud their accomplishments and congratulate them all on participating in this challenging competition.

Scholastic Book Club ordering
Issue #8 brochures were sent home with your children on Monday.
All orders are to be placed online using the LOOP Ordering system - no cash accepted at school.
Lots of you took the opportunity with issue #7 to order books as gifts, so it is the perfect time to do this again!! Please mark your order as 'gift' when placing your order online and we can keep it at the office for you to collect later.
Last date for placement of orders is Wednesday 25th Nov.
A big thank you to all of you who have purchased books through Book Club throughout the year. The rewards accumulated have purchased over $2000 worth of books for your children to enjoy in the school library. Amazing!
Library Borrowing
Just some advance information for you and your children - library borrowing will cease at the end of Week 8 - Friday 28th Nov. So, all books will need to be returned during the following weeks, which will then allow us to do a stocktake/audit of all our library books. Thank you.
Shed Unavailability
The shed will be unavailable fortraining use on the following dates:
Thursday 27 Nov - St Kilian's School Concert
Thursday 11 Dec - Yr 6 Graduation Mass
Term 4 School Closure Days & Public Holidays
Please note that our school will be closed on the following days:
Monday 24 November – Report Writing Day
Tuesday 25 November - 2026 Planning Day
Wednesday 17 December - 2025 Planning Day (Last day of the school year for teachers)
This means the last day of the school year for our children will be Tuesday 16 December. The school will finish at 3.20pm on this day.
YMCA - Bookings for Pupil Free Days - 24 & 25 November
Great news.... YMCA Outside Hours School Care have enough bookings to operate their service for the two scheduled pupil free days on the 24th & 25th of November. If you would still like to book your child in for these days, please email Sadie: stfrancis@ymca.org.au

Remembrance Day Ceremony
Cecelia McColl sang the National anthem with a small cohort of the Bendigo Youth Choir, for the Remembrance Day ceremony in Pall Mall.
She was also asked to present the Choirs wreath to the cenotaph and did so with much maturity and respect.
