NAIDOC Week (National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee) occurs annually in July and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians all over the country and overseas.
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2026 is "50 Years of Deadly".
Celebrated from July 5 to July 12, 2026, this milestone year marked half a century of NAIDOC Week as a national platform. The theme pays tribute to the Elders, organizers, artists and communities who built the movement and carried it forward.
In Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander English, "deadly" means excellent, brilliant, and something to be deeply proud of.

For respect for human life
Let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, recognizing it as a gift from God.
Amen
