Canine Comprehension Program

This term, our students have been enjoying the amazing Canine Comprehension program, with the students’ favourite dog, Jonesy, as their loyal learning companion! Each week, students have worked alongside Jonesy and his owner to develop important life skills while also having lots of fun.

From leading Jonesy through obstacle courses to teaching and following simple obedience tricks, students have been learning how to work together, give clear instructions and read non-verbal cues. Whether it’s guiding, giving praise, or simply spending quiet time with Jonesy, every interaction is an opportunity to build communication, body language awareness and social confidence.

Jonesy has become a happy companion to many of our students. 

The calm and supportive environment he creates makes every session a highlight of the week. We’re so proud of the growth we’ve seen in both our students’ interpersonal skills and their empathy. Thank you, Jonesy! 

Next term we will welcome a new facilitator and dog to join our students in their learning and we know they will fast become the highlight of the week.
