Prep

The Prep students were excited to welcome a visit from the Highett Fire Brigade. As part of their learning about weather conditions and community helpers, they gained valuable insights into how firefighters help keep our community safe.

Harry:

My favourite thing was spraying the hose. I felt like I was putting out a real fire. The firefighters taught us to 'get down low and go, go, go!'

Mackenzie:

My favourite thing was spraying the hose too. I couldn't believe it went into the sky! The firefighters wear special coats so they won't get fire on their clothes. I know to call 000 if there is an emergency.

Year 1

Mila:

We have been learning all about Venus. Venus is a planet in our Solar System. We have been writing facts! I am proud of my writing.

Abigail:

In Writing, I have been remembering to use finger spaces and full stops. We have been writing facts about different planets.

Year 2

Amelia:

For my oral presentation, I made a poster about my mum.  I wanted my friends to see that my mum takes care of me. My mum pretended not to see it, so it was still a surprise for her! When I did my oral presentation,  I wanted to describe her and share her favourite things so my friends could learn all about her.

A special shoutout to Lulu. Lulu competed in the State Jump Rope Championship. She received a 1st place medal for speed, a 2nd place medal for double unders, a 2nd place medal in a solo, a 3rd place medal in pairs and a trophy for her age group! Congratulations Lulu!
