Year 9 Minding Your Own Business Elective – Entrepreneurship Task

This term, Year 9 students enrolled in the 'Minding Your Own Business' elective have embarked on an exciting journey into the world of entrepreneurship. Tasked with creating their own small businesses, students have channelled their creativity and business acumen into developing unique and innovative ventures.

The variety of business ideas has been impressive, showcasing the diverse interests and talents within the group. From homemade baked goods to customised apparel, the students have put their passion into projects that reflect their personalities and ambitions. Some students have even taken the next step and begun running their businesses, learning firsthand about the challenges and triumphs of being an entrepreneur.

One standout example is a preserved flower gift shop created by a Year 9 student. This creative business specialises in beautifully arranged preserved flowers, perfect for gifts or home decor. The student plans to market and sell these arrangements through social media, tapping into the power of online platforms to reach a broader audience. An example of her exquisite work shows carefully arranged roses and wildflowers preserved in elegant glass displays, blending nature and art in a timeless fashion.

The 'Minding Your Own Business' elective has not only taught students the basics of planning, budgeting, and marketing but has also ignited a spark of entrepreneurial spirit that may inspire future business endeavours. The school community eagerly anticipates seeing these projects grow and evolve as the students continue to refine their skills and explore the world of business.
