TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 4 of Term 2.

We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.

This week, we’re excited to welcome new families and children joining us at TheirCare. We’re so happy to have you as part of our community!

Our focus this week is “Road and Safety". We kicked off the week with some fun and educational activities around this theme. The children enjoyed using colouring sheets featuring various road safety signs, helping them learn and recognise important symbols and their meanings. Some children recalled seeing the sign near the back gate that reads “STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, THINK” - a great example of how they’re applying what they learn in real-life settings. On Monday, the children coloured in common road safety signs like Stop, Give Way, and Pedestrian Crossing. This helped them learn to identify the signs by shape and colour. We brought the learning outdoors with a road safety roleplay session on the oval. Children took turns being pedestrians, cars, and traffic supervisors, learning to STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, and THINK before crossing. Also, this week the children enjoyed taking turns creating loom bands, challenging each other to see who could make the longest one. Out on the oval, we had a great time playing a variety of sports, including soccer, footy, down ball, basketball, and cricket.

PUPIL OF THE WEEK

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Xander in PHM for always being the first to offer help. Your kindness and willingness to support others makes TheirCare a better place every day. Well done Xander - you should be proud of yourself!

We would like to inform all families that on Monday, 26th of May and Tuesday, 27th May TheirCare will be running Pupil Free Day programs. TheirCare will be operating from 7:00am to 6:15pm.

We kindly ask all families to ensure children are booked into sessions ahead of time. Occasionally, we reach full capacity and may not be able to accept walk-ins on the day. Early bookings help us plan and provide the best care for everyone - thank you for your understanding!

For all families – if you have any questions about TheirCare and would like to come and have a chat, please visit us in Dingo Building in the morning or afternoon. Alternatively, you can contact us on the details provided and we will be happy to help.
