A Message from the Office Bearers
As we look ahead to 2026, the Parents’ Club would like to extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer, supporter, and family who has helped bring our school events to life last year. The fete, along with all events hosted for the year, were amazing. Whether you baked, sorted, sold, set up, packed down, or simply showed up with enthusiasm, your involvement has helped create some wonderful moments, generated amazing fundraising for our children’s school, and we are truly grateful.
Behind the scenes, however, most of the organising work has rested on a very small group of parents. While they have given their time and energy generously, this level of responsibility is no longer sustainable. We want to make sure that those who are willing to contribute do not become burnt out, and that our school community continues to benefit from a healthy, shared approach to volunteering.
With this in mind, our approach for 2026 will look a little different.
The Parents’ Club will publish a list of events we would love to offer this year. These events will remain open to the whole community. If parents or carers volunteer to take on the lead role for an event, we will gladly support them with guidance, resources, and knowledge from past years. Many of our events have been run before, so nobody will be starting from scratch. Parents’ Club are here to help every step of the way.
However, if an event does not receive the volunteer support needed to organise it, it simply won’t run in 2026.
This isn’t a step back from community involvement, in fact, it’s an invitation to grow it. Every dollar raised at our events goes straight back into supporting our students; funding various equipment needed, assisting excursions, purchasing classroom resources, supporting families in need, and so much more. These contributions make a genuine difference, and they are only possible when the load is shared.
More hands truly do make light work.
We warmly encourage anyone who is able to get involved, whether in a small way or a big one. Together, we can continue creating meaningful opportunities, memorable events, and vital support for our school.
We will be having our Annual General Meeting on Monday 23rd March at 7:30pm to vote on the 2026 Office Bearers. We strongly hope you will consider nominating yourself or become a registered member this year to be a part of this wonderful group we are growing.
Thank you for being part of our wonderful community, and for helping us to make 2026 a successful and sustainable year for everyone.

NLPS Colour Fun Run – What Families Need to Know
We’re excited to launch our Colour Fun Run, a whole-school fundraising event that brings students, families, and staff together for fun, colour, and community spirit!
What’s the goal?
We’re raising funds to support important school projects that benefit all students. Our major focus is transforming the school’s Quiet Yard into a vibrant, engaging space where students can truly thrive.
The Colour Fun Run is the celebration at the end of the fundraising period.
Who can participate?
Every student participates, whether they fundraise or not. This is about inclusion, teamwork, and shared achievement.
How can families help fundraise?
Families can choose what works best for them, including:
- Asking extended family members to donate
- Placing a small labelled donation jar at a workplace or office canteen
- Sharing the online fundraising link with friends and family
Supporting children to safely ask neighbours for donations
Fundraising information will be coming soon - keep an eye on Compass for more details.
Why We Love This Approach
Fundraising builds students’ confidence while helping them practise school values like responsibility, respect, and resilience, beyond the school gates. Families can support by donating, sharing the link with friends and relatives, or placing a donation jar at work or locally. We encourage students, with your guidance, to take the lead wherever possible; building confidence, community connection, and pride in contributing to something bigger than themselves.
Weekly Fun
Each week, classes will receive updates and celebrate fundraising milestones with simple, fun classroom rewards that are up to the school’s discretion. For example, it could be a fun 'wear your PJs to school day' for the winning class, or even a mini disco party.
Event Crew Needed
Let’s work together, support our school, and finish the term in a splash of colour! More details coming soon via Compass. For now, we need 4 - 5 parents that are keen to be involved in the organising process to get this event up and running.
