Approaching End of Term 2
As we approach the end of Term, you may hear more about assessments taking place across various year levels. While the Term assessment often brings to mind tests and results, it’s important to recognise that assessment plays a much broader and more meaningful role in your child’s learning journey.
At its core, assessment is about understanding progress—identifying what students know, what they’re learning, and how we can best support their ongoing development. It allows teachers to tailor instruction, celebrate individual growth, and provide feedback that empowers students to take the next step in their learning.
As boys (and parents) prepare themselves for one final push to the end of Term, we continue to have a strong emphasis on managing stress and promoting healthy routines. These routines include encouraging good sleep, nutrition, and physical activity, providing opportunities for mindfulness and reflection, and creating an environment where boys feel comfortable asking for help.
As always, we value partnership with our families. Conversations at home that celebrate effort, improvement, and perseverance go a long way in building confidence and continue to foster a love of learning.
Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews
On Monday, 21 July we will be holding online Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews. Further information will be sent in the coming weeks. All interviews will take place between 9:00am and 4:00pm. This will provide an opportunity to discuss your son’s progress throughout Semester One and set achievable goals for Semester Two.
All boys Years 4 to 6 will return to school on Tuesday, 22 July.
Co-Curricular
Once again, our co-curricular clubs' sign-up form will be sent via email. This will be available throughout Week 8. The form will be open for signup until Friday, 18 July.
Year 4 Christian Service
This week, the first of our three Year 4 classes had the incredible opportunity to visit Wheelchairs for Kids in Wangara. It was a truly inspiring experience for both students and staff. The children learned firsthand how this amazing organisation designs and builds wheelchairs for children in need around the world.
They were deeply moved by the stories shared and gained a new appreciation for compassion, service, and the power of community. We’re so proud of how thoughtful and engaged our students were — and we look forward to the next class making their visit soon!
Celebrating Our Students Receiving Their Sacraments
We are proud to acknowledge and celebrate our students who are currently receiving their sacraments at their local parishes, including First Holy Communion and Confirmation. These are significant milestones in their faith journey, and we are grateful to be part of their spiritual growth.
A special thank you to our dedicated staff who have guided and prepared the students so thoughtfully here at school. Your support and care have made a lasting impact.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents and families for including us in these sacred moments. It’s a joy to see our community come together in faith, as beautifully captured in the photo below of some of our Year 6 boys on the day of their Confirmation at St. Marys Cathedral last Sunday.
