Principals Report

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” – Robert Collier
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news — this week, Monash SDS was awarded Gold Accreditation for School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) for the fourth year in a row! On Tuesday, we welcomed our SWPBS coach and our Senior Education Improvement Leader, who presented us with our official certificate. This achievement is a testament to the incredible dedication of our staff and their consistent, thoughtful work in creating a positive, structured and supportive environment for all our students. It reflects our whole-school commitment to ensuring every student feels safe, respected and ready to learn — and marks another step forward in our continued journey.
We were also pleased to welcome back Dan Petro, our visiting behaviour analyst. Dan works closely with our staff, observing classroom practice and providing practical, evidence-based recommendations to strengthen the supports we offer to students across the school.
Another highlight this week was the arrival of the Smile Squad dental program. They’ve been busy checking students’ teeth and promoting healthy smiles around the school!
And finally, thank you to all the families who joined us for our Parent Social Night on Tuesday. It was a lovely evening, with a great turnout from parents across all age groups — including our Early Education program. It’s always a pleasure to connect with families and strengthen our school community.
Wishing everyone a great fortnight ahead!
Warm regards,
Lindy Abernethy
