Leadership Report

Term 3, Week 10
Dear WNPS Families and Caregivers,
As we come to the end of another busy term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly exciting few weeks at Williamstown North Primary School.
For those families I haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet, my name is Olivia, and I have had the absolute pleasure of being the Acting Principal at WNPS for the past few weeks.
From the moment I arrived, I have been warmly welcomed by our students, staff and families, and I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the Willy North community.
It is quite remarkable to think about how much our school community has achieved in such a short period of time. We have enjoyed our Reading and Writing is Magic Evening, Prep Parent Information Evening Part 2, Numeracy Afternoon, Tabloid Sports for our incoming Prep students, and, of course, two spectacular performances of Seussical the Musical at the Williamstown Town Hall.
Seussical – What a Show!
Williamstown North, you certainly raised the bar!
Across the two performances, almost 400 students from Years 3–6 took part in Seussical. The countless rehearsals, costumes, singing, dancing and preparation all came together to create two very special nights for our school community.
Our students were absolutely outstanding. Their confidence, enthusiasm and joy on stage were wonderful to see, and they should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
A production of this size simply cannot happen without an enormous team behind it. A heartfelt thank you to our families and parent helpers who generously gave their time to assist with hair, make-up, costumes, supervision, ushering and everything else that was needed behind the scenes.
Thank you also to our incredible teaching and education support staff, as well as our Executive Leadership Team, who worked tirelessly to support our students and manage the many moving parts involved in bringing the production together.
A very special acknowledgement must also go to Laura Pearce, our stage manager, whose work with lighting, sound and all those important finishing touches helped bring the production to life, and to Chelsea Adams, the creative force behind Seussical. Chelsea had a vision, and it was wonderful to see that vision come alive on stage.
A Wonderful Community
One of the things that has stood out to me during my time at WNPS is the genuine sense of community and belonging across the school. Our students have so many opportunities to learn, perform, participate and connect, and behind each of these opportunities are dedicated staff and families working together.
I have also loved getting to know our students. Whether it has been saying hello in the yard, visiting classrooms, attending events or simply having a chat in the corridor, they continually demonstrate the WNPS values of Respect, Resilience, Responsibility and Doing Your Best.
I wish all of our students, staff and families a safe, happy and relaxing Spring break. Enjoy the opportunity to rest, recharge and spend some quality time together.
Warm regards,
Olivia Atanasovska
Acting Principal
