Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome Back to Term 4!
Welcome back to all our families for Term 4, our final and very exciting term for the year! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful and refreshing break.
We have a wonderful term ahead, filled with learning, faith, celebrations and many special moments as we come together as a school community.
This month, we celebrate the Month of Mary, and as part of our Religious Education lessons, our students will be learning about Mary and the Rosary. It will be a beautiful opportunity for our children to deepen their understanding of prayer and Mary’s important place in our Catholic faith.
We look forward to a happy, engaging and faith-filled Term 4 and to sharing all the wonderful experiences ahead with our students and families.
Welcome back, everyone!

Healthy Birthday Celebrations and Rewards
We kindly ask families to refrain from sending lollies or sweets to school as birthday treats.
We are committed to promoting healthy choices and supporting the wellbeing of all our students.
If your child is celebrating their birthday and you would like to provide a small gift for classmates, we encourage non-food alternatives, such as a pencil, eraser, notebook, sticker, Matchbox car or small card.
We also ask that lollies are not used as rewards at school.
Thank you for your support in helping us create a healthy, inclusive and welcoming environment for all children.
School Sports Carnival Day
The St Fidelis Annual Sports Carnival for students from Foundation to Year 6 will be held on Friday 13 November 2026. Please see flyer on the School Sports Day tab in this newsletter. For updates on our annual Sports Day Carnival please continue to keep an eye out in the upcoming editions of the newsletter and also our nForma communications.
Not Returning In 2026?
Have your circumstances changed? Are you not returning to St. Fidelis in 2027? Please contact the office as soon as possible to discuss your intentions. I have a waiting list of other families for different year levels that I can offer your child’s position to other families.
SunSmart | Wearing of Hats
St Fidelis is a SunSmart School and our policy reflects the recommendations of the Sun Smart organisation. The Bureau of Meteorology provides information about the times of day UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher, meaning that sun protection is recommended for all skin types. In Victoria UV levels regularly reach 3 or higher from mid August to the end of April.
As part of general Sun Smart strategies, our school:
- Requires all students and staff to wear hats that protect the face, neck and ears (legionnaire, broad-brimmed or bucket style) and suitable clothing whenever they are outside (e.g. recess, lunch, sport, excursions)
Requires children outdoors without hats to sit in a designated shaded area during play times from the beginning of September to the end of April or whenever UV levels reach three or more. NO HAT- NO PLAY.
All staff and parents are encouraged to access the daily local sun protection times via the free Sun smart app, or at sunsmart.com.au or the widget on our website. Being SunSmart in Victoria flyer
All children are to wear hats beginning this week. We will give the children and families this week to remember that a hat will be required from now on until the end of April.
