THE WELLBEING SHOW

There were barrels of laughter under the COLA as the whole school was entertained by Educational Incursions last term. The Wellbeing Show used magic, music, audience participation and relevant age appropriate scenarios, to model positive use of behaviours such as developing positive relationships, working together, being confident and being a good listener.

They talked about pushing out the ANT (Automatic Negative Thought) and replacing it with a PET (Positive Encouraging Thought) as well as being independent, working hard, thinking before acting and being tolerant and fair!!

Thank you to the presenters, Ms Michelle Matthews and Mr Michael Evans from Educational Incursions for visiting our school for a second time this year.

DR KARL PRESENTATION

Thank you to the Narrabri Shire Youth Council and The University of Sydney for organising Dr Karl’s visit to The Crossing Theatre on 18th September. Our Stage 3 students attended his inspirational ‘future careers in Science’ presentation at the end of last term.

DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA

Term 3 ended with a bang at our spectacular St FX Factor Dance Extravaganza!!!

The Crossing Theatre auditorium was packed for what can only be described as a fantastic show!! The Dance Extravaganza was vibrant with fun music, great costumes and groovy dance moves!! We were also treated to some mystical magic, synchronised swimming, lip syncing and keyboard playing, a yodelling marionette and what’s a show without sponsor shout outs and ad breaks led by our Year 6 students?! It was just like a real X Factor competition!!

Well done everyone for their hard work and amazing performances!! All the preparations that took place throughout Term 3 certainly came together to put on a wonderful event.

A selection of photos can be found on the Dance Extravaganza page of this newsletter or you can view a full gallery of photos on our Facebook Page.

REAL TALK SESSIONS

On Wednesday 20th September, students in Year 4 and Year 6 attended seminars hosted by Real Talk Australia. The age appropriate sessions aim to inform the students about the impact of the media including social media, promote positive self image and the importance of making good choices.

Our Year 6 students were joined by Sacred Heart School in Boggabri for the Let’s Talk: Puberty session. This session highlighted the impact of having good friendships and positive body language as well as the physical and emotional changes of puberty.

After lunch, our Year 4 students focused on Getting Real in the Digital World and were provided with various cyber-safety tips and hints to help them stay safe online.

GARDEN CLUB OPEN DAY

During the school holidays, our very own school garden was featured in the Narrabri Garden Club Gala Day. On Saturday 30th September, our Garden Club guru Mrs Sally Foster and the school staff, opened up the grounds to other green thumb enthusiasts and special visitors.

Thank you to the Narrabri Garden Club for including our school in the day as well as everyone who attended for your kind compliments.
