As Term 1 draws to a close, I would like to a highlight some of the activities our students studying French or Chinese have been able to take part in.

Most recently, the Year 10, 11 and 12 French classes saw a film as part of the Alliance Française French Film Festival. The Year 10 class saw 'Divertimento' on Monday 25th March and the Year 11 and 12 classes watched 'Abbé Pierre: A Century of Devotion' on Friday 22nd March. The students really enjoyed both films and it is always a good opportunity to practice French skills outside of the classroom. If any students or families are interested, the festival is running until April 2nd, with a wide range of films on offer.

Year 7 Chinese students showcased their creativity by designing illustrations for Chinese characters. It's amazing how they incorporated the characters into meaningful drawings. Take a look below and try to guess the meanings of the characters!  Congratulations to Bailey Calleja, Willow Tauschke, and Hazel Thien for having their work selected as the top three in terms of both meaning and design! Thank you to everyone for participating.

A lunchtime conversation club has started up on Wednesday lunchtime at Holloway Road for students studying Chinese through VSL to practice their speaking skills. Thanks to Ms. Daisy Feng for running these sessions.

Additionally, French students at the Holloway campus are reminded that they are able to attend Homework Club on Thursdays for conversation practice on a weekly basis. It has been great to see the Year 12s attending when they can, but Year 11 and Year 10 students are also welcome.
